I like ac-12 The link is just a courtesy....not an endorsement of where to buy from.

If you add SH you can....and will....strip the coating.Use a moderate brush so that its not to hard or soft and don't apply too much pressure.

Do you have a picture of it?

Chris

something that small and not that dirty, you mig just want to use Dawn and warm water, with some elbo grease. That is if you do not want to worry about taking the waterproofing coating off. Should clean up fine with a soft bristle brush.

I did some work for this Customer prior, he asked if I could clean his awnings I said sure. I Bought AC 12 and followed the directions, wet first 5 t0 1 mix and had no results. I then tried Sh mixed ...it got rid of the green algae and lichen but not the black stain. I even tried SH straight and nothing. I even tried AC 12 straight and nothing. It was 62 degrees outside and this Awning is in the shade. First two pictures show prior to any cleaning.....third is after trying everything.....every time i used a soft brush and elbow grease....I even tried a stiffer brush and nothing. Any ideas? Thanks

I would be REAL careful using SH over 1%. You might even be surprised if you return a day later and find it looks really really bright.

SH will eat the thread and fast.

AC 12 mixed 5/1 or so works really well. I generally add a dash of SH and a soft bristle brush. Agitate then rinse. Depending on how bad you just need to repeat the process.

Pat,

Here are few we did. Both had not only black lage but lichen too. We pre wet fabric and apply a 2% mix with EBC as a surfactant. Brush and rinse thoroughly. Reapply if needed but keep rinsing after.

Just a few ounces of EBC should do it in a five gallon mix.

I realized it after I finished a job and was somewhat satisfied with the results but not overly thrilled. I called the client and let her know the job was completed and it looked good but not great. She called me two days later and said "Wow, what would great look like? I mean you did an awesome job!"

Her enthusiasm had me perplexed because I knew we did good but not that good. So I drove by and went "Dam!"
