I had a custom built aluminum bed made by Martin's Welding and Fabricating in Martinsburg, PA.

Mine cost just under $5k.

Our sides drop down and allow for easy access to everything.

We are going to hang the hose reels during the off season so we open up the whole area for storage.

Hank showed me his truck and how he mounted his hose reels, and then Tim went and built that big shiny Florida rig, so now we have both ends of the spectrum to build a design around.

thats a good price but i dont think i want a wood floor. Thats right near Pat and i think hes looking too

I think Im leaning towards aluminum. Theres a kit you can buy, price is reasonable from kansascityflat Id like to find someone whos used one and get share their experience before id purchase.

Is aluminum worth getting or will steel do the trick?

I find that wood and steel is fine as long as you paint it properly. 12.5 SH will eat anything!

I find that wood and steel is fine as long as you paint it properly. 12.5 SH will eat anything!

Id be concerned with the sh dripping through the seams in the wood and rusting out the trucks frame and other components. kind of the situation im in now. I think if it was one or 2 pieces or metal it coukld be rhino lined to help keep the SH to the outside perimeter of the bed

If it’s just the floor of the bed. Patch it with Alum And cover it with fiberglass matting. Get another year out of it

the bed is rusted really bad some spots have broke through. so i either need a new bed 2005 f250 8' or going with flat bed. Leaning towards flatbed although ill have to rewrap the truck
