Ever since the EPA found just one more thing to regulate, I have HATED the new approved fuel containers. Since I was a child cutting grass, I have filled thousands of tanks on small engines without issue. I first found my hatred with these new approved containers when it seemed to take three hands to operate. Then, one day, I got the gas can to fill the leaf blower and it actually released the pressure when I pushed the spout into the tank and I wore gas in my face. I know these "smart" people at the EPA have big jobs looking for ANYTHING they can think of to regulate but this time they just went too far! And guess where it all started? Yep, California!

There are so many different applications where these inadequate containers with the stupid ridged spout just don't work. I have one pressure washer that has the diesel fill in a difficult spot to get to with this poor thought out change to protect us. Just in case you didn't know. If you have older containers that actually work, you are breaking the law. Somehow they even know how much fuel is spilled each year! "This resulted in an estimated 70,262 gallons of spilled fuel annually."

"The new regulations apply only to new containers, and there are no requirements for homeowners to replace old containers. However, some municipalities have exchange programs in place where you can swap your old PFCs for new, compliant version."
