Pentaflex allegedly pushes 7gpm. We use 5850 in the field.
+1 on the 5850. Great results with fully charges batteries.

You ever put off what you know you should do because your a little lazy? I have been transferring SH with the 5800 and 1/2 hose all season. Sunday night I used the fatboy with 3/4 hose and I pump 15 gallons of SH in no time! I will never transfer without the fatboy again!

Ed does pentaflex pump more a minute? Do you use it out in the field as well?

What diameter hose do you use?

We use our Pentaflex for transfer, loading the 100 gallon SH tank and in the field. We can fill the 100 gallon in under 15 minutes if dead empty. It does 7 gpm. If you use it the field you need to reduce your orifice size of you spray tips.

Sorry about that Andy, I missed your question earlier. I currently use 225' of 1/2" poly braid and use dual, in-line deep cycle batteries. I used to use 5/8" garden hose when I first started out and it worked fine. When I switched to the 1/2", I did notice just a small amount of loss in distance. When it's time to change out the hose, I am thinking of going with the same length but 5/8" dia poly.
Mike was spot on with the tip size and I sometimes use just a regular metal garden nozzle with pretty good results (they don't last long though).
SIDE NOTE: The batteries are connected in Parellel not Series. Two 12v batteries connected in Parellel remain 12v output .... compared to two 12v batteries connected in series results in a 24v output.

It's outside of Tallahassee city limits (Leon County). Art would never find you or your cat way out there if you wanted to try and get away from him! Allthough he does have all winter to try and track that little feline down.

That is an awesome flow pushing through that much hose. I started out with a Fatboy But after going through two of them in a very short time I went with an air pump. I do need a back up pump system. Will have to study up on the battery part to understand series. Thanks

Andy, here's a diagram for my Soft Wash battery set-up in Parallel. 12v to 12v= 12v ... it's still 12v output but double the capacity (double battery life per charge). Hope this helps.

All you have to remember is that to hook batteries up in parallel you wire them positive to positive and negative to negative. You can hook up four 12 volts like this and its like on giant 12 volt with 4 times the run time minutes. If you hook up positive to negative you are wiring them in series and adding the volts together. four 12 volts in series would be like one big 48 volt battery. This is how they o it for golf carts.

Thanks for posting this. I was going to ask how this is done. I have weird luck with batteries. In one of my trucks I had a marine battery hang tuff for 3 years. Ive had other batteries crap out in 3 days, others 3 weeks, etc. I keep an extra fully charged on each truck. I wrap it in a plastic bag and stick it behind the seat next to the emergency blow up doll.

we use AC Delco MF (maintenance free) batteries. group 29 for AC's rig and group 24 for our smaller system. They cost about 25 bucks more than he ones from walmart, but they have A 12 month no questions asked guarantee. I brought both of my group 24's back about a month ago and they just took them and gave me 2 new ones off he shelf. The 29's have been on the truck since March with no issues.

I have it setup and it has worked really well, less wear and tear on my back and the roofing pump. The only mistake I made was not getting the 7 gallon a minute pump.....this one is okay, save shipping and got a discount.....you need the 7 gal a minute.

I ve used the 7gpm pentaflex for transfering in the past for 15 gals of 15% SH and it took less than 2 mins! roughly which is awesome.get on the road faster.
have a supplier that get truly fresh 15% SH consistantly where as 5-6% store bought usually is digenereated to 1-3% by the time you purchase it. close to Art and Pat!

I'm assuming you guys are transferring from 55 gallon drums? How are you getting these drums delivered? Everyone I called won't deliver residential. So I'm have to pick up all the time.

I get bulk deliveries from a tanker truck through my supplier, then transfer from the bulk tanks to my rig with Pentaflex pumps. Those days of hauling 55gallon drums back and forth are long gone.
