Ok chill. I said it ranks well because it does. I'm pretty sure there were 2 cities that I sent that didn't get put up. I didn't cancel the service. I haven't seen you around so I thought you bailed on it. It's possible I thought I sent it but I really didn't. I don't think I said anything too far out. I would love to have the ability to create a good directory and create residual income. Kudos. I'm glad your around. Weird timing, you must have just signed on as I posted.
No, I was working on the directory and got notified that there was a link made so I went an looked at it and clicked the link source.
It just blows me away that people don't take advantage of the articles (you are the exception). Your Jan 9th article ranks 4th on Google for "Roof Soft-Washing in Bergen County NJ". People spend hours a week posting on forums and won't spend 30 minutes a month writing about their business on a site that has good google authority.
No good deed goes unpunished...

Barry we talked a while back. There are no ill feelings. The blogs I wrote rank well. It's a tight game here so to have them show up on 1st and 2nd page results is good. I would much rather prefer having the ability to just create my own blogs with edit capabilities. It's not that people don't take advantage, it just kind of blows not having the ability to edit the way you can on this forum, WP, Merchant Circle has an excellent blog section. Is there any way to put that together?
Are you sure the blog I wrote was Jan 9 2014? It would make more sense 2013. I honestly sent 2 other posts last year that I didnt see listed. That is the reason I reached out to you a few months back, if you can recall. I haven't created or sent any posts since that conversation.

And not for nuttin', the last conversation we had on the phone was the last Ive heard or seen of you. You should come here more often to promote the site. I'll be the first to say that www.roofcleaningcontractors.com works. You have to take the time to create city pages and send them to Barry but they rank strong 1st and 2nd page.
I'm hoping Bruce's directory can do the same. It will all come out in the wash. Barry I dont even remember the cost. How much is it and what are the benefits?

It's possible that it was made earlier, the site upgrade wasn't a simple theme update...it was a total rework. The only things that are the same are some plugins and the DB. The dates could have got munged.
There were huge problems with the old site...listings were posts and articles were custom post types. This made me have to mod all sorts of **** to get it to work. Now, posts are posts and listings are custom posts.
I just tried to call you...call me when you get a sec and I'll explain the article submission changes.

The site is changing....it was $50 a year but few took advantage of the features. I'm reworking the entire approach and rolling in features that were originally going to be part of "The Cleaning Syndicate" which was an SEO project. We are also working with the insurance industry. I've made a couple of presentations already and they like the idea of a pre-screened soft wash directory for their adjusters to refer to.
I deleted the packages, there is just free and premium now. Premium is $100 but that's not just for a listing, it includes all the SEO and blog automation. I don't expect people to sign up for the premium until I get some of the features on. I'm still coding...that's one of the reasons I extended everyone to 2 years.
Free listing is still free...

I've been on the Exterior Cleaning directory for about three months, two of which have been since I finished my page. I already got a referral from the site in a short period of time.

I think green castle does shotty work. Charged me 500 to add 10 words to my main page with links and after all said and done I still had to load things onto the page that she didn't do. I have been using barry and he is by far the biggest help to me and worth way more than what he charges.

I agree and found someone locally to take care of SEO & my website. The directory is more Bruce so I will utilize what it is. After a year I will reevaluate how well it works.

Measure, track and evaluate...no matter who you use. Don't delegate this to the person being evaluated.
I've told people again and again....without a yardstick to measure with, how can you decide where to spend. I'll generally track a site's ranking (major keyword phrases) before I do any changes. Without a baseline of performance you have no idea if the changes (or SEO) is working positively. Even if you aren't making changes or working on SEO, others are and changes to ranking are the canary in the coalmine.
I've used several services over the years but have found Micro Site Masters to be the best bang for the buck. It's online so no downloading software. They use their own google account so no annoying captcha's for over-accessing the serps. They track the keywords daily so you can see trends developing. I'd feel blind without it.
You can get 10 keywords daily for free or 150 for $19.99 monthly.
Full disclosure: I actually use this service, I don't typically endorse things but tracking is a must and this site is pretty good. The link under the image is an affiliate link and I will get credit if you sign up....no additional charge to you.
