Although we have used the fatboy we prefer the 5850. We rinse all pumps when finished.
Hank
Rinsing IS the key if you want the pumps to last. I can get a year and have even gotten more out of pumps (ok, I put two together to make one good one). I swear it is because we run no less than 5 gals of water through them after each job, which completely clears the hose. The only time we don't rinse is if we are staying on the same street to get to the next house.

Yes 5 gallons after each job and you should get about 100 roofs out of them.......

I run the 5850, and a fatboy for really big roofs. I have 2 seasons on the same pumps. I was going thru 2 every season, but for the last 2 seasons have not had a problem. I have 4 spares that are still in the boxes. On roofs that are really tall to the peak, I use an extension wand, have them in different lengths. I have never met a roof I couldn't clean.

Dave, whats the longest extensions?
For long wands if leverage fatigue is an issue (esp. When pw'ing) I sometimes add a counterweight extension. Really helps, haven't needed it for a softwash wand only the heavy pw 12 ft poles but depending how long a Sw pole may be it may help too

Here is one of the wands I have. It is extendable. I had the end of it custom machined to accept the hose running inside and be able to thread a quick connect on the end to be able to change nozzles.

It is, but I did an annual customers huge house with lots of hard to get to areas1 helper in 3 hrs from the ground. (House washing only)
In previous years it took 4 guys a day and a half to do off ladders because no one likes to use it. But do the math
6 man hrs vs 48
Labor cost 8x more efficient
