Last Thursday, I was cruising I-10 on my way to a job and my trailer was fish tailing all over the highway. I have two 65 Gal. soft wash tanks that sit over the axles that just had 15 gal. of SH in each and all the other equipment was pretty balanced from front to back. I hadn't greased the bearings in quite some time so when I got home, I broke out the grease gun and the bearing buddies seemed pretty thirsty.
Monday Moring I had another job a few exits down I-10 and it rode perfect. Same load on the trailer as before. Could a lack of grease been the issue? Were the bearings on one side about to seize up and creating drag on one side?

Ray,
That's strange. Over the years I've towed my bass boat all over even with a less than desirable amount of grease in my buddies and I've never had it fishtail. I guess anything is possible.

One might had a drag on it causing it to sway.

I don't think so. With the timken bearings that are on axles, if they were that dry, enough to cause a drag, they would seize up and be ruined very fast. Jack up the trailer and see if there is any play in the bearing.

That could be it Eric. Just imagine if I went another 20 miles without pushing some grease in there? Could have had a real mess on my hands.
