About five or six years ago you would have about five to ten jobs a year where the H/O was forced to clean their roofs or get dropped in thirty days by thier Ins. company, up here in the N/E anyway This year I am probably around thirty H/O who had no choice but to clean the roof. Let's face it, you can't blame the ins. companies. We know that the parasites really does a number on the shingles, when it causes the shingles to raise it brings alot of problems. One of the problems with raised shingles is water damage and of course bundles being blown off on windy days, and then the H/O calls thier ins. company who winds up paying out. But my Favorite customer this year who had to clean thier roof or else was....that's right an ins. brokerage company. They had two buildings that needed attention, as I spoke with the owner he told me that the Insurance companies are now turning all thier attention to mold and mildew, and are not letting up. I have to say I don't like that people are being forced to do somthing they don't want to, I have seen the H/O not only have to worry about the roof but sidewalks and painting as well. Although the H/O is usually angry about having to clean the roof they don't realise how fourtunate they really are. How many roofs do you look at where you tell the H/O I'm sorry if only you called me a year or two ago, you need a new roof!
