I use these types of clamps on all my hoses. They are easy to use ,strong, clamp down tighter than those clamps. These pinch clamps are used in irrigation but come in all different sizes 1/2 " to 1-1/2". I like to keep them in my tool box for quick fixes . Also when dealing with vacuum rated hose it is best to not heat the pipe with a torch. I do keep a small butane torch for quick fixes but the best way to heat the pipe is with boiling water and if you don't like boiling water a small electric heat gun also works good. If I have a break or leak I can do a quick fix with the torch and pinch clamps and shazam I'm back up and running. When I get back to my garage I get a small pot of water and small camper stove and boil the water get the vacum rated pipe soft and I oil up the fitting to help the pipe slide on and then quickly clamp the hose down. These clamps really go down tight and I double up on them and be sure to put one clamp on at 12 o'clock and one at 3 o'clock this will pull the pipe down tight in two directions making a better seal. One last point, heating the pipe with a torch melt its properties and will make it crack down the road, boiling hot water is the best.

Zack they come off hard. I just usually cut the pipe off and throw the plaxtic fitting away. These clamps are not reusable like hose claps but the clamp down tight.

I use those (we call them ear clamps or single pole clamps) on my pure water hose connections. If I need to remove then a pair of linesmans pliers work well. Simply twist the ear in a circle till it breaks. Then you can pull the clamp apart.

I've wanted to try these before but never did,..not because they hold better,.bur because they look better. Not doubting they hold better, I just don't have trouble with hose clamps,..but as stated,..these have a finished, "factory" type appearance.

Jeff thesr hold way better than hose clamps and tighten down eazy and quick. I have a habit of over tightening hose clamps and stripping them. Bob from PT use a real comercial grade hose clamp but they are big money. These caps are much cheaper than heavy duty hose clamps and hold way better.

These types of clamps work much better than hose clamps. I have used them all the time when I was working in industrial Maint. Work great for water, air, and hydraulic lines. You can get them at fastenal, grainger, or any good plumbing supply house. They do come off easy with a lineman's pliers, or you can use side cutters to also cut the ear, and remove them.

These ear clamps work great. I get them off Ebay in bulk bags when its time to restock. I get the pliers in the Pex tubing section at Lowes.
The clamps and pliers are at most major hardware stores or a plumbing supply co. Clamps are usually with the tool in a plumbing area. Do not buy end nippers mistaking hem for his tool. End nippers or horse shoe tools look the same but have a sharp cutting edge. This tool is dull/ blunt so as not to cut the ring just pinch it. We us them as well. We also use 3/4 Pex connectors on 5/8 hose. They are solid copper rings and require another crimping tool. Th 3/4 for Pex pipe fit 5/8 kuritek hoses and they are indestructible. We have to cut them off with a dremel or grinder. Pex is a newer plumbing system of flexible pipe with its own sizing. Do not think that their other connectors work on anything we use. Also do not buy the steel slip rings. It's the copper solid rings.

Here is the tool I use. You pinch it tight with channel locks, vice grips or a bench vise. We always use 2 connectors on an end. I have 4 year old kuritek hoses with these still on them. http://www.pexsupply.com/HydroPEX-POCKETCRIMP-PEX-Pocket-Crimper-Kit-3-8-1-2-3-4
