The development group has been working on this directory for months now. This directory is not affiliated with any organization, special group or forum. It is a stand-alone directory.
The concept resulted from the success of the Professional Roof Cleaner Association, which is also a stand-alone site. Since 2011 the PRCA has generated many leads for roof cleaners throughout the U.S. and Canada.
This directory covers both the U.S. and Canada. It also covers all types of exterior cleaning needs for the potential residential owner or commercial business.
The directory features a mini web site, separate and apart, for each service provider member. Unlike some of the other directories where all providers are somewhat grouped together. The exterior cleaner directory provides each member with their own listing ability and independent from other service providers.Depending on the level of membership will determine the many options and degree of listing each member wants.
The options and features are many in number and too much to list here. The directory structure has built in SEO features and links back to each member’s personal web site.
There are over 7,500, what we consider viable exterior cleaning services within the U. S. and Canada. We had a group of people that have spent months vetting each service provider. For services provided, time in service, web presence, technique and most of all contact ability. Can a potential customer contact the service provider with easiness?
The directory has a built in CMS and those that meet the vetting requirements will receive an invitation to join the directory free of charge. Those outside the requirements can still apply to join but will be vetted and must meet the vetting requirements or will not be permitted to join or be listed.
The objective is to provide a location for the potential residential or commercial business owners to have a one stop shop for all their exterior cleaning needs. Again, the priority here is focused towards the potential customer(s). Our marketing will be towards to potential customers not the service providers/members. That will be up to each member within there listing to do their own marketing to the potential customers.
Though we have provided all the information about the directory and what it has to offer and will have how to videos for members to navigate the directory when listing. We do have a customer support staff to answer all questions or concerns through the directory by contact.
Now onto marketing the directory!

Bruce,
Who is running this site? Just the name of the head person. The reason I ask is my company is listed several times for PA and I don't even recognize the site or remember being advised that I had joined.

I signed up for it about a month ago. I think its hooked up to some kind of yellow page listing directory. I see a lot of Power Washers in my area listed also. No biggie Hank its nothing that you arn't listed in allready. I don't think they just put you in at random. You were already listed some where out there.

We screened a lot of exterior cleaners to see who had a serious service. Out of 7500 exterior cleaners in U.S. and Canada we ended up with about 3800. You'll find if you didn't claim a free listing you are not listed anymore.
If anyone goes to the directory now and type in your zip code search or city, you'll only see those that " have" signed up. It will stay that way going forward. All others that haven't claimed have been screened out.
Mark Dye from M & D Power Washing was the first one to get a closed lead off the directory. LOL A couple other s said they have been contacted.
One reason some were not listed was they didn't have a good contact -email or form on their web site. There were many that didn't. A potential customer needs to be able to contact. The contacts are direct, not through the directory.
It will be a work in progress. Everything takes time. I paid for it yearly, cheaper and know it will just grow over time. When someone does join they need to fill out all their links at the bottom of their profile page i.e. web site, Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc. because this directory has great link juice. It was designed that way. That is why every member has "their" own mini web site. Also they should put in a profile picture of themselves.
Even though someone isn't listed anymore doesn't mean they cannot sign up still for free. Though we will screen them before listing. This directory, for members, is for quality over quantity and we only want safe and professional members.
We have one person that monitors this directory daily.

Just for the record. You didn't pay to join PRCA. You paid Laura to put your code for your web site on the map. It was a one time $10.00 charge, had to write code to do that.
This directory is different because each member has " their " own mini web site. Their listing will be as good as " they " make it. As for paying that is anyone's choice. Though paid will list over free members.
The reason we went for the " mini web site "option is we wanted every member to own their own listing, not the directory. We will market the directory. You'll see each mini web site has it's own built in SEO options.
As I have stated before we don't want quantity, we want quality service providers. If you go to the directory today and type in your zip code or city you'll only see "those" that have joined in that location.
I can assure you " I" will fill the directory over time. Just a work in progress.
Personally I would like to see one or two professional service providers in each location/city etc. because the directory is designed for the potential customer.
As for members, just another opportunity to get their service out front. Plus the directory is SEO to the hilt, provided everyone fills out their listing with the linking options. Like anything else will be as good as you make it.
Just for the record. The PRCA site generated over 100 roof cleaning leads to members. I also got 74 e-mails from potential customers looking for a roof cleaner because no one was listed in the map for their area.
I am sure some have seen me posting leads on the forums which came from PRCA last year.
I track all web sites. We have a person that monitors the directory daily.
Like anything the directory will take time to get legs but when it starts those there will benefit. There are no magic pills to take, but it will only work if you work it. I'll work it. LOL

I paid for membership. It allowed me 15 cities. I am at the top of the page. There a 3 to 5 companies listed for cities that I paid for. Granted I am at the top and Im the only one that shows Im a pro member. Another non-pro member is listed as a verified business which gives an edge over me. Listing 1 company as verified also says that the other companies are "unverified". I would not hire an "unverified" company and I think most others also would not.
Im not knocking, I want it to work. I cannot see much advantage of paying accept that I am at the top of the page with other free listing. Bruce maybe you can explain the benefit of paid over not paid.
How are some companies listed as "verified company"? What makes them "verified"?
Im sure others would pay if there was a measurable benefit. Help me out here Bruce.
Thanks, Ed

Anything like this is great for your local search. Some other online directories like www.roofcleaningcontractors.com was rating well on local searches because I was taking the time to create pages. i think Barry is the guy who made this. But it seems like he bailed on it. He would upload blogs, you cant do it yourself. There are 1 or 2 city blogs I wrote but he doesnt put them up. The guy disappeared or maybe he thought he was gonna bank roll a huge residual income.

Ed. For someone like you just click get verified and enter your web site. We do the verifying. Just away to make sure no one slips through that won't fit. But you have to click the verified link for use to verify or anyone could just do it.
I am posting an update right now after this reply. We are weeding out the listings as we go. We work with Yoast.com for our SEO. Each location that has members we have a blog writer that will be also blogging that location.
Read the new posted update and it will explain paid over not paid. In short, unpaid cannot get a direct lead, the paid do. Should an unpaid member get a lead request in your location if no paid members we will forward to them, if paid members we would forward to them. Nothing personal, just good business.

Incredible!
There are 22 articles, 8 are yours. Not one of the draft or pending articles are yours....every article you've submitted is live. Your last article was on Jan 9 2014....
There are some pending listings and articles...most are either blank or have 1-2 sentences. Even then, I email and call before I kill these, usually at least 3 times. I get about 1:15 returned calls and email replies. I care more then they do.
I've spent the last 8 hours fixing premium accounts and customizing their map infobox. Yours took about 30 minutes longer because I had to photoshop your logo so you would have an image in your infobox like everyone else.
Yesterday I spent about 6 hours coding in the import feature that will allow premium members to auto post to the directory by posting on their site
Last week I spent about 6 hours fixing articles so there was an image that showed up in the blog index...that included at least an hour on your listing and website looking for images. http://roofcleaningcontractors.com/articles/
Two weeks ago I spent about 15 hours upgrading the site....
I have been implementing the new features as I get time...more are coming.
Oh....and after the upgrade, I extended every person that was premium member from Jan 1 2013 to Feb 2014 to two years....doubled their term. Ed, You wont have to pay again till Nov 2015
As far as bank roll...I did this for the industry and the income I received based on time spent means I work for all of you people for about $5 an hour....unless you include the actual money I've spent....then I work for about $1 an hour.
I'm not sure what you expect.....or why you wrote what you did.
