On yesterdays job I had time on my side so I tried to make an introduction video of the company and the process. Talk about awkward feeling! This will really get me way outside my comfort zone to get this done. It will probably take 17 tries before I get something good and Im gonna have to write it out first.
Alot of you guys are great with video . Any tips or comments for others to help get good quality content without looking like a deer in headlights.

It makes me cringe to watch myself on video or to listen to myself on audio.

Have a basic outline of what you want to say beforehand. Say it outloud a few times till it feels natural. Then relax and remember you aren't doing it for an academy award. It's just you talking to one client at a time.

Same here...I thought I sounded funny. I had two things convince me that it was in my head.
Two years ago, I got my son an Xbox360. He loves war games and one day he asked me to play a zombie killing game I got him. He was young and not many would play with him online. When his mother also got him a Xbox, he would call me and ask me to play with him online. Over time, I met other fathers that played with their kids. Several times I was told that I had a radio host voice or asked if I was a radio host.
About the same time, I got involved in local politics because of two zoning battles. Several times I spoke publicly and made slide presentations. Many people would thank me and compliment me.
I realized that my critique of myself was mostly self conscience.
My advice....

As a public speaker, I was taught if you want to accelerate your abilities, record your presentations. You won't like hearing your voice the way others hear it the first time, but it will help you discover what you need to change to be more pleasing as a speaker.
Same with video. You just have to get used to your voice, and how you look in front of the camera.
Good advice to write an outline and then practice until you are comfortable with what you are say. The beauty of this process is you will improve and your message will get clearer.
