First off I wanted to thank everyone at NSWA who has reached out to me, sent positive vibes my way, and kept me in their prayers! I was discharged from the hospital yesterday on 4/20/2014.
I have a condition known as ulcerative colitis, which in a nutshell makes nobody on the crew want to foot a ladder for me! My body sees my colon as an invader and tries to reject it. Every couple of years or so I have a "flare-up" and it makes my life a living hell! This time it jumped all over me and my Doctor admitted me to hospital. Unfortunately stress is a major contributor to this disease and my type A personality and business acumen makes it a constant battle to find a balanced life.
Here's something I learned and would love to pass on to everyone here. I know my style of business isn't for everyone, but over the course of the past week I was able to convalesce in the discomfort of a hospital room and suffer no loss of income, in fact we had a banner week and booked up at least one crew for the whole month of May!
If you've ever considered creating a team, it may be something to look into. While it isn't for everyone, it can certainly be a lifesaver if you find yourself in a critical health situation, such as I did. Feel free to give me a call or drop me an email if anybody would like to discuss!

Great to hear your doing better Ray! This past year I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and even though I lost 30+ pounds easily (too easily, loss a lot of muscle masss) it is a PITA to control blood sugar from being too high to too low that I get weak and shakey and dont trust myself being on a high ladder at times and its affecting work. you always need enough people with overlapping skills that if you or they are out someone can cover to keep the work sched. flowing.

Glad to hear you're out of the hospital Ray. It sounds like you just don't own a job but a business. In a true business, the owner can walk away and the business will continue to operate just like a McDonald's.
