I don't know about the rest of you but July has been a really slow month for us so far. Maybe people are busy with vacations and summer activities. Perhaps they've spent their budget on vacation versus roof cleaning!

It's been a bad year in California. I think it's mainly because of the drought, which is significant.

I'm actually booking into September at this point, but 90% of August is commercial, or investor rental houses.

July wasn't to bad. Phones just slowed up the last 2 days. Been 2-5 jobs a day for the whole month. I'm a little worried about august though.

The rain we have had in Iowa this year hasn't been our friend. Though the bookings are okay we stay about three weeks out but that is cedar cleanings. We have done about three asphalt and two metal roofs for realtors.
We like to keep the realtors happy.
We are about 15% off from this time last year Gross income.
We also only work 4 days a week, take the week of the 4th off every year and don't work the month of August, normally, just push our bookings over to September if possible.
That's the benefit of being a small operation, one truck, two people.
Our normal season is about May 15th to November 15th, minus the above work week and times off.
Though others I network with said they are off this year also.

We had a big hail storm come through the area a month or so ago. Everyone is getting new roofs and holding off on the cleanings. It's killing me - physically!!! I hate roofing. It's funny to see all the storm chasing roofing companies that come to an area with hail damage. Old commercial buildings that have been sitting vacant for five years or more are now occupied by roofing companies.

Barry, we had a hail storm two years ago that shut down the roof cleaning for half our town, so I know what you mean.

We had a two week period this month that I noticed the phone slowed down. I had Dwayne, my web site manager, do some checking, and he compared the number of people searching our terms in July this year vs last year. He said July was slower both this year and last year, but get ready for August, as it really picked up.

We all know July can be a slow month. Our numbers are up from last year this time by 38%. We have worked every available day (weather and bass fishing permitting). We are small two man operation and I like it that way.
