I'm pretty sure this is not us www.thompsonroofcleaningNJ.com
I can't figure how many levels of improper false advertising this represents.

Pretty messed up to say the least
I cant fathom picking a business name in the same field or website that was remotely close to someone elses.
Get your own identity. make your own way
Kind of riding on someone else's coat tails
The problem or potential one is if the other guy starts getting a bad name or bad reviews- clients will have hard time differentiating

Ray I laughed and blushed all at once.
This is how he is trying to advertise himself on Google:
And it sucks, because you can't resort to "black-hat" combat, since it could possible affect your rankings/reviews/good name.

It's a double edged sword. I got more than a handful of jobs from his post cards. He puts that domain on his advertisement. So when people google "Thompson Roof Cleaning" they're more likely to get the company best pertaining to those keywords. Granted, it does come up on some searches which is how I found it, and yes it does make him a dik. Imitation is the best form of flattery.

Makes me wonder if he's the person in Jersey on our website over and over and over.
I met him in AC. He had a lot of roof cleaning questions, ironically. But you'd think if his actual company name was "Thompson Touch Window Cleaning" he'd at least have the domain www.thompsontouchwindowcleaning.com. But he doesn't own it, because I do now. He should've covered his own bases before he tried to cover mine.

This would be interesting if it played out in court.....(hope you don't need to go that route). I know you already know all this but just from an objective outsider looking in......
The problem for you is that his last name is Thompson but the good news for you is that he just recently bought the domain name and it would easily confuse the consumer. You have had your domain since Creation Date: 2009-11-10 19:01:09.
Next is the actual business name......Your logo clearly states "Thompson Roof Cleaning" where his is "Thompson Touch" and also clearly says he is a window cleaner.
He has a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/NJWindowCleaning?ref=br_rs where he joined February 25, 2010 and it also clearly states him as Thompson Window Cleaning and has his domain name as NJWindow Cleaning dot com which was created on 2011-12-22 18:27:26
$250 for a letter from an attorney may well be worth the money. My "personal view".....as a consumer.....easily confusing and clearly stealing.

ED your web site is excellent very professional looking ,informative and also still has the personal touch ,
this other guy has it all wrong gutter cleaning is a picture of some guy blasting a chimney stack ,roof cleaning has a guy repelling down a window ,, guy is a BAWBAG , scrotum ,
I will use a lawyer if it comes to it. I've spent a lot of time and money branding our name. This little douche thinks he did me a favor by taking it down.
Personally I would ask that he send me the domain name. Currently it just goes to a blank page and the problem is "it is the internet". Meaning some of the stuff he put up will be there forever and if I'm trying to find you....hit his domain name, find a blank page......I'm thinking you went busto.

Doug, you set a bad precedent by doing that. If the norm becomes that you have to retrieve the domain from some dik wad everytime he decides to create a mimicking website, you'll find yourself chasing your tail. It's like black mail. In a way that's what this douche bag is doing now. His original intent was to be found on the merits of OUR good name, not his. I called him out. The right thing to do would accept that he made a jerk off move and got on with his life. But now he wants to parlay the results to his benefit. He wants his domain thompsontouchwindowcleaning.com. Isn't ironic how he failed to secure his own business name while he's out trying to copy others?
I want nothing to do with this A- hole. Totally not interested in negotiating any type of domain transfer.

Good for you Ed
It speaks volumes about someones character when they mimic or ride the coat tails of others
I don't understand why any one would want to be associated with a similar name in the same field
