Many of you might have heard about the coward who opened fire on two Pike County based Pennsylvania state troopers while they were changing shifts at approximately 11:00 pm the other night. These two troopers never stood a chance. One died and the other one was listed in critical but stable condition. Here are two guys who did a job that most of us couldn't or wouldn't do even if we were paid handsomely. My prayers immediately went out to the troopers and their families.
We service Pike County/Barrett Township weekly and are always driving past the barracks on Route 402 in Blooming Grove never thinking our troopers could be in danger or ambushed at their "House". Nowadays no one is safe. I hope they catch this guy and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. Better yet let him die in a hail of bullets and not by his own hands.

Ted,
It's been a seven days now and unfortunately he's still on the loose. With 120,000 acres of federal and state land to hide it's a daunting task for the authorities. There are over 14,000 vacation homes and cabins in this area as well that are only occupied on weekends or during specific times of the year.
At least four school districts have closed over the last several days because of this. Roads have been closed down and searches of vehicles conducted. The local economy is taking at hit.

Two weeks and law enforcement still can't find this guy. Homeowners are not coming up on the weekends and tourists are not visiting the area. Businesses are hurtin for certain. This includes mine as well.

Hank, I was honestly thinking that he wasn't really around or already dead. It seemed unfathomable that he could elude experts for that long. But I was wrong.
Hopefully Monroe and Pike will recover a bit economically.
