In my quest for world domination, I've been kicking around ideas for service add-ons. Anyone ever tried chimney sweeping or know anything about it?

Up here in the cold North (where we already have over 12" of snow on the ground) chimney sweeping is huge, all I know about it is that I pay $250.00 to have mine cleaned. I did not think you Floridians had chimneys

Dan,up in North FLorida, most houses have them. We use them 5-10 times per year. Every home inspector recommends they get cleaned. I can only find two other local companies that offer this service here

I have a friend who lives outside of Wilmington, NC who owns a mosquito spraying business and added on chimney cleaning for the cooler months. If he can do it, anyone here can. If you need some info I can get it for you. I know they started with minimal investment.

Definitely worth going for in the winter months when the summer work drops off.
Here in the UK most chimneys need sweeping once a year. Plenty of repeat business. We charge £55 for a standard chimney sweep.
We don't use conventional brushes we use a technique called power sweeping
here's my website and there is a video on there to show you how this works.

With this ad on you will remain busy through the whole year.
I can thoroughly recommend going on a course and getting yourself officially recognised to sweep chimneys.
It normally takes 35 to 40 minutes to sweep and we charge £55.
Currently we are doing 6 sweeps a day.
Also these customers generally use you for other services once you have built on the relationship.
