Got an e mali from Amex yesterday. Somone tried to charge $278.00on my buisness card, in person! It is in my wallet! They said it was in New York but they declined the purchase which I'm happy about. Got to watch who we give card info to for now on, they are sending me a new card with a chip in it to prevent it further. Anyone do anything speacil to combat this....besides not using it?

Wrap your new card with aluminum foil. The chips in the new cards can easily be read by handheld card readers. All someone has to do is get near you and it can be read

I better check mine. I think whenever we use our cards online they become free game for these thieves. I had my debit card numbers stolen 3 times and each time they used them the bill was always 700 or more.
