Many times on commercial jobs we encounter metal louvers like this which allow for airflow into the engineering areas.they just tend to get pretty funky due to airflow, humidity, moisture and oxidation. Sometimes they cleanup great, other times not so much. The ones that I'm showing here fell into the latter category, I'm not cleaning up so great. We soft wash them at a 15% mix, then tried soap and a scrub brush, next moved onto F 13 gutter grenade to try to help remove the oxidation, no luck there. Continuing on in my arsenal I tried some F9....no results there. Finally at my wits and I tried one restore and that has seemed to do the trick.
if you've never used one restore before make sure you wear proper PPE. It is a buffered hydrochloric acid detergent. Pretty nasty stuff, but is doing a good job of cleaning up the louvers!
Ray is the One Restore the paste or the Liquid? I haven't tried the Paste yet, but the liquid is good.

Ray,
Thanks for sharing this. As usual this is getting printed out and stored for future reference. My past is in facilities mangement and still have many contacts in the industry. This will be helpful for work in k-12 environments, higher education, correctional institutions, class "A" commercial office buildings and the health care industry.

Wow came out great! How strong of a mix did you have to use....50/50?
OneRestore GEL is a versatile, gelled restoration detergent that allows extended dwell times for tougher situations.
OneRestore GEL is capable of removing the deepest stains from a wide variety of surfaces, including metal oxide stains. The extended dwells will allow more time for the product to work as well as more time for rinsing. OneRestore GEL is especially powerful under sills and other areas that do not get a lot of sun.
This product can stand alone or be used in conjunction with OneRestore as a phenomenal one-two punch.
With the extended dwell times, precautions should be taken not to allow it to sit on glass or anodized aluminum.

It goes to show there is no "one solution fits all" product.
