I just cleaned off the Honda and there was at least 10". It's still snowing now to be followed by freezing rain. Wonderful.

I'd like to buy a 4 wheeler atv with a plow. Looks fun. I know there's money in snow plowing, but it's so tricky. Ive watched guys gear up for seasons when it didn't snow. I think they have to pay the insurance up front for the season.

You need the tools to do the job. I bought a truck, plow and salter with no work. Right before the snow season we had 3 commercial accounts and it was all paid for in the end of season.

Ed,
do you really want to deal with all the issues that come with plowing? It would cut into your blogging, world travel and baby time greatly.

We were out pushing 12 inches of the stuff. 22 hours out of 36 in the truck for this storm
Same here. Last night it was 6 degrees here and the wind was howling. Today it's sunny but it's only 30 degrees.

We received two inquires to clean snow off of roofs. We declined. We usually receive a couple of these inquiries each year. Does anyone else get them and if so do you provide that service?

We have a video out on youtube and did several last year. These are always emergency calls from customers. Yes, it's labor intensive and I charge accordingly.

Wow I would figure In Michigan it would be tuff work, what does a average home get cleaned for? Do you do colonials I figure it be pretty dangerous?
In the Chicago area we received roughly 14 - 19" of snow. How about the rest of you?
Rain and some ice...nothing to talk about.
