I have not had the issue with shingles but do have it with metal roofs. We use a 20% solution on metal and rinse. The sap has gone away. My guess is because it's so hot. If I had a problem I would use hot water.

I usually just leave it....One trick is "ice " another I think is rubbing alcohol....try google

Now Charlie! Why would I try Google when we have the Best Exterior Cleaners in the world right here.
