I have been getting more and more calls for Roof and Siding cleaning because of Insurance company inspections. Either because of spot inspections or new policies. They want the moss and mold off the roofing and siding within 30 days or they are going to cancel the policy's. Last week I had to give the insurance company a separate letter head stating the work was complete. This is a win,win for us Exterior Cleaners.

There all doing it now Chris. They realize The Mold, Moss and Lichen is damaging the roof shingle and they don't want to be liable for it.

It used to be they just wanted the roofs washed, but now I'm seeing they want the siding washed also. Must be something with the mold on it.

Having had been in the insurance industry whenever the insurers wanted to trim the fat and implement loss prevention they would find any reason to drop the riskiest policies so they send low paid or even temp interns to go house to house and find any potential problems. If your gate was open they would go into your backyard. Sometimes they may just be looking for a reason to drop you for just poor payment history.
Overgrown trees,no fence around pool, peeling paint as a sign of water damage...

They sure do pay for a bunch of roof replacements. People can have one replaced for a little more than most cleanings. Roofing contractors knock on the door and tell them he could claim hail damage and add the deductible to the price. New roof for free

While shopping around today for theft insurance on the equipment and tools I'll be carrying on my truck, the first agent told me she would have sent a job my way last week. You can bet I'm going to stop into every agency to drop off cards and a few tri-folds as soon as they arrive from the printer.
