This is the blue (USA Brand) hose I got from Pressure Tek. What hose do I need. Can't spend the last 30 minutes of the job looking for blue marks on the concrete.
I completely agree. I bought one last year. It didn't start leaving blue until this season. The good thing is they come up real easy. The bad news is time! I have gone back to grey. It has never left a mark.

Grey in the same brand hose? or something different?

We exclusively use grey 2 wire 6000psi non marking hose for both the truck pressure washer and the hot water trailer.

Why 2 wire over 1? I run cold water 4000psi/5.5gpm. Is this a decent hose? http://www.powerwashstore.com/P/2820/DragonFlex6k1008451

I'm not familiar with that hose so I can't give an opinion on it. I buy my hoses from my local supplier(ACR Products) here in PA. I just felt it was better to have 2 wire after reading about hose failure in the past. So far so good.

The Blue Neptune pictures above gave out on me after one season. And it had just started leaving the marks. PTState didn't have the blue so I went with the grey,..I think I'll be glad I did,...at least from the marking stand point.
Now I'll just replace at the beginning of each season,.and hack the old into 50' sections.
I used to get two seasons and then I'd replace simply because I didn't want ANY blowouts,..now though it seems the quality has diminished.

Anybody familiar with Envirospec Serpentine hoses? This is a 6000 psi 2 wire

Think about using some 1/2" hose too. You lose about 300 PSI per 100" of hose. We run out over 300' and the gauge drops almost 1000 PSI. The 8 gpm still works awesome though.

Yeah I went ahead and ordered a 150'. As long as it's not too stiff it should be perfect. The other 2 wire one that came with my skid is so stiff you can barely roll it up (Legacy brand black)

Buying the right PRESSURE WASHER HOSE
The most common mistake made when purchasing pressure hose is equipping a machine with a hose that has too low a working pressure. A 3000 PSI machine should be equipped with a hose that has a working pressure of more than 3000 PSI. This advice comes from years of field experience using various hoses. Always size the working pressure of the high-pressure hose over the pressure washer operating pressure.
As an ex-contractor of the 70’s & 80’s using a 2-wire, higher pressure hose was never my first choice simply because it typically weighed almost twice as much as a 1- wire hose. Now days when comparing a 50’ 1-wire 4,000 psi hose to a 2-wire 6,000 psi hose the weight difference is as low as 2 pounds per section.
Hose technology has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. In my day if a hose would last 1-month you would ‘kiss the ground’ and bury it in the nearest dumpster. Now we have customers who tell us that our Serpentine hose will give them as much as 6-months of service.
Let me leave you with these few recommendations for purchasing a hose.
1. Purchase a 6,000 psi hose even if you are running a 3,000 psi system. The hose will last twice as long and even though it weighs a couple of pounds more it will make your muscles bigger! 2. For all of you truck washers out there – never position your equipment in the parking lot in such a manner where other tractor/trailers are driving over your hose while you are washing. This is responsible for more hose failures than any other single happening. 3. For all of you who have been buying ‘Blue’ or ‘Yellow’ Non-Marking hose for all of these years – There is no such thing! The only true non-marking hose in the industry is ‘grey’. Why? Grey hose does not contain ‘carbon-black’. All other colors do and this is what causes marks as the hose vibrates on the surface. ~ John Allison

I agree,.that it's obvious 2 wire hoses are tougher,..but I use and prefer the 1 wire simply due to manageability. 1 wire is not only lighter but it's also more pliable than the 2 wire. The downside is it does need replaced more often,.but for $350.00 a year for me to spend on new hose isn't that big a deal,..especially considering the customers buy it anyhow.

Cheap hoses may blow the end fittings and is very dangerous, get hoses with good fittings or you ll be seriously injured
I've had it happen many of times and getting a doctor to push out the water from your arm and stitch you up is severally painful.
Haven't have that personally but had employees hurt

We just started using Powerwashstore's Dragon Flex hose and really like it. It pulled thru the grass real easy and is easier to handle than the blue we were using.
The fact it is two wire 6K concerned me that it would be stiffer and hard to manage but not so.
We chose 50 foot sections so we can grab a quick section and do smaller areas without unrolling all 200 feet from the reel.

I actually almost bought that but Envirospec had free shipping. AND I'm betting that the Serpentine Hose I got from them is exactly the same hose. It was dropped shipped from a supplier (unmarked box and no tracking provided).

I use to have an issue with using small sections from a reel,..the hose gets all funked up from pulling the trigger on and off. I solved this issue,..after pulling off only what I need,..I then "pin" the hose down to the trailer. It stops that funked up issue from being an issue.
I made a conduit type clamp from heavier gauge than a normal conduit clamp,..and made a spinner nut with a handle so I don't need a wrench. Works very well to solve this issue.
I suppose you could use a bungee cord,..I just don't like those is all.
*Not sure why the quoting thing didn't work properly,.maybe due to me selecting what I was referring to and deleting the rest?

Great Idea Jeff
I am installing two shiny new Titan electric reels on the next build and just decided as many have to not run thru the manifold at all.
So, with smaller sections I can spin off the sections I need, hook to the unloader and spray away

I can see why you wouldn't want to run roof mix through your manifold (Although I do) But what is the issue with the running your high pressure hose from the PW through the reel? I mean,.the restriction of the manifold is negligible compared to the benefit of having it always connected to the unloader and having one smooth continuous piece.
Just pull,..pin and spray!
