Does anybody know the rate that SH would be to weak to use? I had some SH (12.5 %) that was about a year old sealed in a 15 gallons container. I had a roof to do with light to medium black streaks.
I mixed 2 to 1 and had a hard time removing the stains on the roof.
I used it full strength and it seemed to work better. I should of saved it for house wash.
When does SH start breaking down ? 3 months? 6 months?

Mike,
there is no real exact time frame on the degrading rate of SH. There are too many factors. Was it stored in sunlight? Was it stored in a really hot warehouse? Was the lid on the container open, causing the sodium to dissipate out? How strong was it actually when you bought it?
lots more could be asked but if you think it is too weak just toss it. No need to get to a job and not be able to clean.

What John said.
I had a post of the rate of decomposition from 15% on down. Can't find it now. At 15 or 12.5% it denigrates in a few days to weeks but stabilizes to 5% or less in months. I get 15% delivered by site straight from manufacturer .but he told me even the 5 % in the supermarket cold be as low as 1% due to age and heat. Google sodium hypochlorite decomposition

Honestly I don't like a barrel that is more than two weeks old....still good for house washing but weak for roof cleaning. This is one of the awesome things about a ProPortioning System. If the SH is weak you can just turn up the dial!

I don't know any precise times, but from my experience it's around 10%+ breakdown per month, especially if you leave it exposed out in the sun, etc.
