When I started my company on a very tight budget, I went with a simple site that I created myself from Godaddy. As we grew, I kept adding to the site, and applying my very basic knowledge to SEO. I've always enjoyed very high rankings, which I think is in part to my participation in forums and always adding content via redoing pages and updating my blog. Typically I'm always on the front page of google in my market. I know a lot of folks don't like GoDaddy, but I always found them to provide great service.
That being said, I can feel the winds starting to shift in my local market. More and more companies are having professionals design their website; some very new companies here in Tallahassee look like they are "old Pros" with the websites they have created. Since I'm not quite as income strapped as I used to be, I thought now would be the ideal time to transition to a professionally created page. I chose Anya Curry at Ambidextrous Services to create the new site and provide some SEO help. She calmed my fears about loosing all the momentum (and Rankings) I have garnered over the years and explained if the changeover was done correctly I wouldn't see a drop. So far I'm very happy with site, but not 100% done yet.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I think its stinks.....I think you stink....Oh...wait, that's me....been working in the hot sun too much.
The only thing I'd say Ray is that people seem to like a "personal" touch and since you're still creating the site I would suggest a brief video with you and your wife saying something like "Thank you Tallahassee"....blah blah blah.
Putting a face to the company seems to work for large and small companies.

Good Suggestion Doug
I know we sure feel you are one of the dominant 'faces' of professional softwashing in your markets and beyond for that matter!
I also chose to have our site critiqued here and while it can be painful, it does result in a better product.
I know some felt strongly about all the movement as far as the way pictures loaded etc. The consensus I got back was less is more.
So, others may weigh in about the way pictures change.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the "swirly "pictures. It's nerve-racking though, giving up control of your site. Before if I didn't like something I could go in and change it. Now I'm at the mercy of someone else!!!!

I think it's a great site Ray. Actually the best I've seen. The only thing I don't like are the pictures that spin.

Ray,
I see the "About Us" page is not up and running or is it my computer that's not allowing me to see it? Keep adding photos so I can steal them. Only kidding.
