Over the Winter months I may be putting a few of the remote units together for anyone who may be interested. They will be put together just like I'd put them together for myself,..soldered connections, dielectric grease , remote with excellent range etc... They will use the same solenoids I use. They will also be mounted inside a protective plastic box which makes them protected from rain and wash downs.
I have posted numerous times about how to put these together,.but from some of the e-mails I received and even a few phone calls I get that not all are comfortable doing this. So I figured I'd put the units together for anyone interested. Probably between $125-$150 with shipping included in that cost. And will be dealing only through PayPal.

*There will also be a stand alone unit available for those who use a pull start PW.

*Just a note: Running this remote unit or any other remote will NOT allow you to run full flow like a by-pass valve will. You're rinsing will
be with water flowing through soap injector. So you have to weigh the benefits and determine which you prefer. It simply stops soap from being pulled by the injector, but water still has to go through the injector when rinsing.

I dont understand the pull start PW part. I bought two of the solenoids but I didn't solder any thing. Mine worked like a charm for a very short period of time. Personally the more affordable you made them the better they will sell. Especially if it has to be cleaned daily

Hey Andy,..I'm not looking to make these and have it be part of my viable income. So making them more "sellable" isn't my goal,..this is about as affordable as they get if made by me,.and if someone wants one they can buy it great,. and if not,.I'm not gonna cut corners by crimping instead of soldering and eliminating things like dielectric grease and shrink tubing so I can make them more sellable buy being able to make them at lower cost. I am going to put them together for those who may want one and they will be made the same as I make my own.
More affordable is putting them together instead of buying, and I've explained how to do it on here,..I'm just now offering to do the work for those who aren't comfortable and certainly not figuring selling to the masses.
Not sure what you mean by having to be "cleaned daily",..especially in regards to the context it seems to be written? Anyone using a soap injector should be rinsing it through with clean water at the end of every job anyhow,..so not sure where the issue is,.doesn't change anything as far as routine goes.

I consistently get about a month out of each solenoid and they are cheap and I assemble them to make the solenoids easy to replace. (And once anyone uses a remote they will see the cost of replacing a solenoid is a non issue ) If I had to replace one every week it would be well worth it,..complete and total game changer where DS'ing is concerned.
**Pull start PW obviously has no battery to run anything 12V. So as not to discriminate, Ha,Ha,..I can make a remote unit that will work even you don't have an electric start PW.

Thanks Eric,..I am not in my downtime yet ,.I will be working on them during the off season. (Soon I guess,Ha,Ha) What I plan on doing is making them per request,.but I'm not gonna ask for payment until the unit is ready to send out. My point about price was you mentioned how inexpensive it was to build these things. Even compared it to a product a dealer sells for more money to make a living. Compared to what it actually cost it seems you have figured out things can get more costly when preparing to put on the market. Im no mind reader. I had no idea of your intentions. I simply stated if you kept things affordable they should sell. I had the other one and it didnt last long either.
As far as taking them apart. I dont read every comment of every post but I do remember you saying somewhere something about taking them apart to clean them out.

You guys will be so glad to have one of these,..the difference in effort you'll save is so well worth it. Just sooo much easier,.and in my case I know I save soap,..much more accurate with with the soap on and off and your fingertips.

No Eric,..it's not,..to have full rinse you would have to by-pass the soap injector.. Which is where the by-pass valve is nice,..but,..for me the convenience of the soap on and off at my fingertips and no running back and forth or having someone run back and forth far outweighs the benefit of full flow rinsing. I also prefer full flow rinse,.but with this remote or any remote you will not have that because you are still shoving water through the soap injector when rinsing.
I will make sure there is information regarding this.
If you want to change your mind not a big deal.
What I did though to eliminate the need to remove the soap injector for when I do want full flow,..like using a SC,..I brought a "T" off the unloader and ran a hose into the other side of the hose reel with a ball valve,..and now when I want to run full flow I just turn the ball valve and let the soap injector in place.

Yes,..Andy,..they are cheap to make,..not a big secret among us here,..I've posted the cost for everyone to see. . I have already determined what it costs to make one and sell it and the cost of shipping,..no surprises here. I figure I'm just giving anyone interested an option is all. The markup is to make it worth me doing is all,.. And if someone doesn't like the mark up on them then they don't have to buy. I've talked on here extensively about what is needed to build it yourself,.but some may just not want to,..that's up to them.
And no,.these aren't really being prepared to market. Yes they are for sale,.but I'm not planning on marketing them,..it is per request,.not really marketing.
I probably did mention somewhere about having to take one apart and clean debris from it,.or maybe explaining how easy they are to take apart if needed to clean?? .but that would fall under the shit happens category,..NOT daily cleaning category. All of the equipment we use in this service needs extra attention once in while,..but it's not the norm. And debris getting in one would be user error.

Andy,.it depends on where the by-pass valve is located in line. I essentially use a by-pass as I described above,..but even a a soap injector by itself will NOT work with a by-pass opened up to full flow. So,.yea,.it depends on where you have it located inline. Kind of hard to explain.

Jeff one of the other guys added a buy pass to go around the remote injector so if the switch goes bad they turn a on/ off valve and they keep going. Kind of like the by pass from injector to hose reel that the guys use

Hey Art,.yea I'm sure it's able to be done. I just wasn't sure where Andys is located so I wasn't sure how to answer. I mean,..I essentially already do that,...just in a different configuration. My by-pass starts at the unloader, and is "T" off,..one hose to each side of the hose reel. To DS I have the "other" side shut,..and to run full flow for SC I turn the "other" side on. And that makes my by-pass,..which actually works like the original by-pass we are all familiar with. But I'm sure it can all be done from one side,.I just didn't want that big loop of hose in the way.
So with that scenario,..if my remote unit would quit working for some reason,..I can use the ball valve I have mounted on the other side of the reel as my by-pass,..because I know when I happen to forget to shut it before starting and I go to start soaping,..it will not pull soap with full flow through the reel.
Was very irritating the first time (And only time) I did it,Ha,Ha,....I thought something was wrong with the remote unit and it was opening up to pull soap,,..after about 15 minutes of fooling around I noticed the valve on the other side of the reel opened up,...all I had to do was turn the valve,Ha,Ha,....I never forgot that after that,..and now I aslo turn the valve to the shut position at the end of everyday.

Jeff I guess I didn't explain it to good. Its just a 1/4" hose that go's from one side of the unit to the other with a cut off switch. When you open it the soap go's around the remote. You would just use 2 1/4" T's

Mine is a 3/8 ball valve coupled directly to the machine with a short hose to a tee fitting.
The injector is coupled between the ball valve and the tee.
When injecting the ball valve is open to go thru injector. When not injecting the ball valve is turn to direct flow around injector.
The reason I mentioned it was I never thought of the bypass causing a problem for the remote.
Like I said earlier it worked like a champ on about 4 house washes and if I remember correctly it would no longer shut the chems off. No matter which way the valve is turned.

Hey Andy,..when you're saying it wouldn't shut off, did you happen to test it and see if the solenoid was mechanically activating? Easiest done with machine off,..you can hear an audible "Tick" when the solenoid activates,...which I'm sure you're aware of. Other than that it sounds like there must have been debris inside and not allowing the plunger to fully seat.
