my settlement is coming in soon, so i went to the local rig experts, and talked to a salesman. We came up with a great rig for what we are wanting to do. Here's how it breaks down.
5x12 heavy duty single axle trailor.
2- 5 1/2 gallon a min machines (Honda)
2- hose reels
400 ft of hose
1- garden hose reel
200 ft of garden hose
1- 275 gallon water tank
1- 30 gallon chemical tank
2- 20" surface cleaners
1- 7ft wand
1- 4ft wand
1- 2ft wand
Everything is going to be setup and ready to work for 11,000
The pic attached is of one of the new pumps and motors.
I would strongly consider getting one of the machines at 8-10 GPM,..Nothing like that kind of volume,.and you can still use 3/8" hose. Awesome for rinsing and running a surface cleaner.
I would also make that a dual axle trailer.

Sounds nice! My thoughts are you might put a little more in or sacrifice something for a dual axle trailer. I also would like the option of hot water when needed. I don't see any roof cleaning equipment but with a bigger trailer you could add that later.

Cant do the duel axel trailer. If I did then id have to buy a truck to pull it with. We have our minivan that pulls our trailor.
Won't have enough money to do both, and pay off all the bills we need to pay.

Didn't want to put out the extra 3500 for hot water. I wont be using it much anyway. One job in the last 3 years I needed one. The wife said she dosent want to get into roofs. Shes scared of hieghts.

Their equipment and design look good based on both their website and facebook page.. If I'm reading this right... you'll have two cold water machines on the trailer? Also, I would never tow that trailer with a mini van. Is the trailer equipped with brakes? Never limit your services. Put a roof pump on the trailer and get a hot box for hot water.

Yea the more I think about it , the more im thinking about getting a truck to pull it with, or a SUV. No there are no breaks on the trailor. Yea i wanted 2 Coldwater machines so I could run the surface cleaner while she washed the house.
I just dont use hot water, enough to justify messing with it. Only been asked about it once in 3 years.
But i am going to get the roof equipment just in case lol. Cause we can use that for alot of stuff.

Don't wait for people to ask for it(hot water cleaning). Go out and let people know you can clean their restaurant sidewalks, dumpster pads, kitchen exhaust, fuel pads, etc.

^^^ What Jeff said and a 50Gal chem tank if you can fit it on there...you can run a smaller water/buffer tank on a hudson float valve and not tote so much water on your single axel trailer...

If money needs to be stretched, get the hot water machine, drop the second pw and add a booster pump for roofs and small to medium house washes. How long will it take to break even with the cost of two PW's?
That is a lot of weight for a single axle.
Personally, I like building my own as do many here. You can save a lot doing it yourself. Then you can really stretch the money! Maybe even a small flatbed or box truck.

Now that sounds like a good idea. A flatbed truck would hold the wieght alot better. That way we can keep the van for the family.
I dont know much about the booster pumps. I'll have to look them up to find out what the benefits of them are. Lol

Saw this on Pressure Washing Classifieds today. Much better trailer. Maybe not as nice of washers...but it would make money for sure.

This flatbed is only 15,000. For the whole thing!
That's a nice set up that would need some minor changes. 15K is the asking price so you know you can get it for less. Keep looking, it's winter.
A lot of people use trailers and I started out with a trailer and learned early on that a trailer is troublesome around here. Small cities that date back to the 1700's and a lot of times dead end streets are not a cul-de-sac. Turning around was a nightmare! Then add in the neighborhoods that have only street parking. The other issue with a trailer is finding an employee who can handle a trailer. The first box truck was 14', now I use 16" and keep just about everything we need inside and secure.

Awesome, yea i talked with the wife and I think we're really going to just look for a flat bed truck to build a rig on.
Fantastic idea, considering she can't back a trailor

If you want high volume, but only occasionally, could you join the 5.5's together for 11gpm?

I would not get that trailer set up. When you are doing 3-6 jobs a day that trailer makes sense but not if your only doing 1-2 a day. There is so much more you could do with 11000 dollars.

The problem with forums like this is we forget when we look at shiny equipment used by the veterans, most started out with very modest equipment. They chose to invest in education, simple equipment and intense marketing. That is how they afford the big stuff they have today. Just my two cents worth.
