Erik mentioned in Jeff's post about getting better with pictures. My truck has a yellow label on the dash that says, "Take Pictures".
Years ago I had trouble finding my spot. Those damn rocks and twigs move around! I have been using snow stakes for about four years and most of the pictures are an incidental match. Find your spot, plant the stake and shoot. Take a look at the before picture before you take the after and poof... they look real close to the same.
And you always get your money's worth at the NSWA. :)

I am very familiar with walking rocks and twigs. darn things never stay in place.
Since we are discussing pictures. Hear is the future of roof cleaning pics. Soon everyone is going to have these or similar for house pics. They keep getting smaller and cheaper. 1 - 2 years we will all have one.

Great idea. I was just thinking about this the other day, as i sifted through a jumbled mess of before/afters... need to get a more organized way of taking them.
That flying phone looks awesome... but can you imagine being out at a restaurant, or a recital or something, and seeing dozens of them flying around... haha.

Hey Brett,.. that is a good idea with the sticks thing. I also like constant reminder notes as you mention about one being on your dash,..constant reminders is a very simple way of being better organized so to speak.
* I originally got the idea of notes form the oil change stickers they put on the corner of your window. Always thought that was a good, simple idea.

I do look at the befores first and it helps get the afters to match.
But how are you guys dealing with the sun and similar issues. Most roofs are dirty on the north side. which means when you get there in the morning and take the before by the time you take the after the sun has risen higher than the peak and is blasting you right in the face and shows up on the camera.

Great advice. I'm notorious for not taking pics in the same spot. Seems like I'm always rushing to the next job and then remember I forgot to take an after shot. Lol
