Hey guys, I was just curious of what process you use to maintain your gloves. I use a pvc glove and when I first started I couldn't keep them from smelling like my high school hockey gloves. Even after washing your hands the smell would linger. I started spraying lysol after every use and I built a drying rack for them. The rack has holes drilled in the pvc and is opened on both ends to try get get air flow. I am still getting a smell, but not as bad. I'm just trying not have to by new gloves at the end of every week. Any input would be appreciated.
I prefer Nitrile gloves. Nitrile is tougher than PVC so can be made thinner. Very tough they are. Look into Atlas 370 gloves,...and if you like liners,..like I do,..go to Harbor Freight and buy the 9 Mil Nitrile surgical type gloves. Very good combo,.and can pick up a dime off the ground. A pair of Atlas 370 are about $5.00 and can be even cheaper if bought online (ebay) ,..they last about a month.
*Don not get any acids on the nylon backing,..it eats right through them. When spraying acid I actually put another 9 MIL. liner over the main glove. And just remove it when I get past that part of the job.
I never notice an objectionable smell after using.

Those are just the liners. You should use the Atlas 370 for your outer glove.

We go through the thinnest nitriles from HF. We just use them as daily liners and use the thicker rubber gloves over them. Never have to worry about drying them. Can't imagine not using gloves these days. My Hands are shot from not using them in the past.

we use 7mm disposable nitrile gloves from KEC supply. I but 2000 at a time when they are on sale for $75.00 per 1000. My guys love them and no smell.

The benefit of the Atlas 370 glove over the Nitrile surgical type alone,.. is two fold,...First they hold up ALOT better than the liners alone,..and when the liners are worn underneath,.. you now have complete protection of your hand,..and the liner will last a week when used underneath. And second,..the grip with the Atlas gloves is much better than the Nitrile liners alone,...especially after the initial "finish" wears off and they get dulled out.

Pretty much the same. My guys are wearing disposable then the heavy PVC over that. The wet smelly glove doesn't exist any more.

That's a simple fix. Thanks guys for the help. Wish I could have thought of this on my own, but I think with all of the other operational stuff on my mind, I just overlooked it.
