Ok,..I've used this force feeding idea for several jobs now,.and I must say it really solves the issue. I added a 3-way valve on the inlet side of the 12V pump,..one side for SH and the other side is tied into my water supply tank and when I'm ready to rinse the injector system out,...I simply turn the valve to the water side.
What's really nice is the flexibility the force feeding gives me. Where without force feeding the 8 GPM pump last season ,..I would just have it pulling wide open.
I have the 12V pump wired into the solenoid and both turn on and off at the same time with the remote.
But now,using the little 1 GPM 12V to force feed,.......even at 10 GPM I only really need to open the valve about 1/4" of the way,.and that is a plenty strong mix for house washing. When I open it full for concrete or something else bad,.it makes a REALLY strong mix for DS'ing. Very flexible,.and I'm really liking it.
And an added huge benefit so far is [B]NOT HAVING TO UNSTICK THAT STUPID LITTLE CHECK BALL, Ha,Ha[/B] The pump has enough PSI to dislodge it.

Sorry Eric Ha,Ha,.....The 12v pump is inline before the solenoid and obviously the solenoid is before the soap injector.
So,.from the supply tank(s) it goes like this,..The SH pickup hose goes to one side of the 1/4" 3-way ball valve the other side goes to water tank,...the middle barb goes to the 12V pumps inlet,..and the outlet of the pump goes to the inlet side of the solenoid and the outlet side of the solenoid goes to the soap injector.
Hard to understand maybe,.but in reality very simple.

I just prefer a dumb phone,..talk and text is all I need. I don't want to much gadgetry to be messing around with,..(Which I would) So,.with my dumb phone,..not much to do but talk and text. It does takes pictures,..I just don't take many is all. And I do wish I took more pictures of life in general over the years. Just seems like a hassle to me.
*But as I stated,.the flexibility shined yesterday,..the (2) houses I did had heavier green mold on one side,..and it was nice to just open the 1/4" ball valve to allow the 12V pump to pull a stronger percentage for just that one side,..and then I switched it back to regular strength. Kinda like what the Tims gadget does ,..so I'll call it "Mini-Prop"
I tried to type the word for Tims gadget and it reverts it to "Manifold"?? Even tried typing it without the hyphening,..same thing?
Is "P R O P O R T I O N E R" a banned word now?

I think its a liability for someone to to make a post talking about how to build your own and calling it out by the Tim's Gadgit name. its not, ita a proportioning device. Hey Ray,..with my setup running a 10 GPM PW and force feeding it with a 1 GPM I doubt will clean a roof effectively as a roof pump. However,.it did make me think about it,..I think if something like a 4 GPM PW and force fed with maybe a 2 GPM might be getting there. But,.you'd have to make sure the orifice inside the soap injector is big enough to allow the 12V pump to not cycle?
*Yesterday,.I ran into a white rough cut brick chimney,..and it had pretty heavy black and green mold down the sides and near the top,.was anxious to "really" try it out ,..I opened the valve from 12V to full flow,.and it worked very well,..I didn't have to use a dedicated sprayer as I would have before. And when I was done spraying the chimney,..I turned the vale back to about 1/4 open. Very encouraging this little project is.

Lets see how long the PW hose lasts. I don't think they will hold up with that strong of a mix.

Hey Art,..that is a consideration I had,.but when used a normal percentage,.it's about the same strength as a smaller GPM pump like we've all used. But,..yes,..getting it to roof strength and using it alot could pose more expense.

I started playing around with putting the SH through my power washer hose today. I had ordered a flow controller to set it up but the one I got was faulty and wont work the pump, so I could not set up the system properly. It is the first time I ever got a faulty one. These controllers rarely give trouble.
Anyhow this is how it's going to work.
I have a ventura installed in the power washer hose after the power washer and before the reel. I took it apart and drilled out the orifices to allow more chemical through.
The controller has two wires going to the battery positive and negative and two going to the pump. A lot of you are probably familiar with these controllers as they are used extensively in window cleaning. They allow you to set the flow rate and also set the pressure. The digital ones have a 1 to a 100 setting for both pressure and flow.
I wired my pump to a controller that I use for window cleaning temporarily to see how the pump would work with the pressure washer.
I was worried that the pump might push SH back through the power washer if it was turned off and the pump left on, this did not happen. When I used a wide fan jet I could get plenty of chemical through. When I used a high pressure tip no chemical came through. A bigger pump should push loads of chemical through if needed. I think this will work great for spraying flat surfaces and low walls. If you are spraying high areas it will depend on the tip you are using, a high pressure tip will create too much back pressure and the pump pressure switch will cut in. I have attached a link to one of the various types of controller that are available.
