I finally found a place up here in Maine, that I can buy some SH. At first the only place I could find was online for 5gal pals at chemworld $150. Just today I found a company that will sale to me 15gal to 55gal drum. The 15 gal is going for $82 and the 55 gal is going for $268, are these prices sound about right or should I shop around more ?

Same as Art. Our 55 gallon drums cost around $150 in Tennessee. I'd call every chemical supplier you can find. Somebody's got to have a good price on it. Even if not, all your competition will be paying the same as you so the playing field should be level.

$4.61per gallon here. If I remember correctly when I started 8 years ago I was paying about 1.99a gallon. Fluctuating worse then gas prices but that's the going price in my area.

We were buying it from a local car detail place... $90 for a 55 gallon drum. Thing was, they didn't really have any info on it, and I found a little inspection sticker on it that was 6 months old. Plus it had sat outside under a lean-to, in 95+ degree weather, for months. I mean, it cleaned okay, i guess... but i wondered how weak it had gotten.
Decided to try Brenntag. We are an hour from their facility, and they just delivered 55 gallons to us. $150 + fees ($25 fuel surcharge, $50 barrel deposit, $15 tax), ended up at $240. I guess the next delivery wont have the deposit, so it will be $190, which is $3.45 a gallon.
So $100 more than the el cheapo stuff, but the cool thing is that they include a COA, and it was analyzed 4 days ago at 14%! That was a nice surprise to get stuff that hot.
And yeah, i stuck my finger in it to see what would happen haha.
