My name is Nikolay, and I Live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I started my soft washing / pressure washing business this year. We have a good weather so far, but in a three months the exterior cleaning season will comes to the end, and starts again in April or May next year. It's going to be rainy weather with some snow for 3-5 months.
Any idea what to do for the business like mine in those months? Thank you.
I'm in Massachusetts and have the same problems, this year we will be installing Christmas Lights.

I've got a 2nd business that I hit the gas on in December. It kept me busy full time last year, but our down season is only about 3 months.

I don't do any outside work during the off season. My business work schedule is just eight months. In the "winter" months we work around the house, office and shop. Taking unscheduled naps in the middle of the day is my favorite activity during the winter.

I just work because I'm not smart like Brett, not sexy like Lisa and can't take naps like Hank.
Funny, all the naps Hank gets to take and he ain't no where near sexy either!

I wish I can afford to take 4-5 months off, but I can't. It is my first season and I am doing OK so far, but 4-5 months for vacation is to much. Rainy season in Vancouver is at least 4 months and a few weeks of snow if we get lucky. I have to find something to do indoor.
My way out, I think, to get more contacts from Property Management company's, logistic and warehouses.
Another BIG question!!!
What do you guys do with your employees in the off season?
And how do you keep them busy?
Actually it is two questions :)
Thank you.

I know some just have their guys collect during the off season.

Yes, we do have Unemployment Insurance. It is a good option I think.
I still have some time to figure out how to keep business going during off season, prefer to work without long breaks.

Had a guy working in south Huntington last week and he said it was snowing.
I think he just had paint speckles on his glasses.
