In a townhouse subdivision, nearly every building has black spots on the vinyl siding. They are present from the ground to about 8 - 10' up. The townhouses are two story with composite roofs and gutters. I did not have any roof mix with me. I did have a bottle of Purple Power and tried that. The black spots on a small test area came right off. They seem to have suddenly appeared this year. The Property Manager is perplexed. Has anyone seen these before?
I agree as to the small spots but the bigger ones look like carpenter bee crap. It's dripping from above.

I have read it can shoot 20'.....tell them you have to use organic mulch.

The small spots does look like AF but I don't believe it is. There is little to no mulch around. The spots and drops appear over driveways as well as the rest of the houses. In addition to spots there are numerous drips. I don't believe it is carpenter bee droppings. This does seem to be a mystery. The buildings were recently power washed and it is believed the spots were not there before then. Could it be a reaction from the power washing?

Upon further research I may have identified what it is. It may be....wait for it.... spider poop! If you go to the link below, you will find an image nearly identical to what I saw.
I dont think its poop......they may have used mulch a year or so ago and now the AF has shown after cleaning......even the smallest amount left behind in a bed can do it.
The carpenter bee poop that we have seen is usually EDIT: dripping from the, soffit. Also recently we have seen AF where there is no mulch. scratching my head on this one.
