I keep tools in a plastic tool box with a gasket but it doesn't work when the crew leaves it open many times throughout the week and it gets water and SH. If I take the trouble to clean them and it keeps happen I'll find a big can of whoop ass!

I did something similar one time with baking soda, to clean an engine i was rebuilding. I had good luck with CLR once, just putting it in a tub and letting rusty tools soak overnight.
I have a bunch of rusty stuff now... might try the CLR again to see if it works again, and if not, might try the sandblasting.
I found this home made sand blaster. On my winter list to get ready for the spring.
