I know we all get them and I get them to but since I've launch my new site the robo Calls have more than doubled. I got 5 calls yesterday morning and I swear there from the same company. I always request to be removed from there list but I believe the same company called me. I use my cell phone number on all my advertising and all over my website and it is a major league hastle because I always answer my phone. To top it all off they now use 603 area codes. There has to be a way to stop these calls and there has to be a way to complain and leave negative review on there sites.

Same thing here. Definitely a PITA. Home Advisor isn't a robo call, but is one of the companies that just wont leave me alone. I thought about using them for about a minute, but when they didn't even take the time to learn what services I offer (thought I was a roofing contractor) I laughed.

I avg 9 a day, it’s a nightmare. There’s no way to stop them. I use Grasshopper for my biz line. I keep complaining and they keep reimbursing me. They can’t stop the calls though.

Robo call, rerouted numbers with local area codes and the list goes on. I have no clue how many we get daily. Leah gets most in the office and then there are the ones that call my cell. Many of the calls are dead silence, others I can hear quiet and then I hear the sounds of a call center. If they have a rerouted number I ask if they are local and ask the name of the business. If they think the will get me they will give some of the information. When they say they are from X I ask why they feel the need to reroute their number and tell them I won't work with a business that works this way and hang up.
The we work with Google calls that tell me my Google listing isn't correct I just tell them they haven't done their home work. Depending on the time I have I will ask them questions that prove they have no looked at the listing or the website.
Sometimes, especially when I'm busy I tell the the owner is out of town and to my knowledge, he doesn't work with these companies.
As to Home Advisor, some like it while others don't. No mater what I tell the newest person who calls, they will try again months later and as Steve stated, they know nothing about us, just the next number they have to call! Just the other day I told the lady I wanted nothing to do with them, I had enough horrors with Service Magic. I would rather spend the money they want on Google/Bing ads, FB ads (for branding). When we used Service Magic it was nothing but low ballers and tire kickers.

I added my numbers to the do not call list and I actually think it has helped a little. I have three businesses with three published phone numbers and it can get insane.

Brian, try an app called 'True Caller'. It wont get/block all of them, but it will get most of them. You'll get a visual notifier that they're spam. The rest are marked as spam via crowd sourcing. Or you can let your admin deal with them.

Most of the Spam calls that I get go to my hard line. I try to keep my cell off the internet when I can. But there is always that robo call that gets through. The one I hate the most is "Hi this is Ashly from card member service" She just goes from one number to the next!

Yes I'm constantly getting the robo callers. I think what they are doing these days is frequently changing their phone numbers like you can do with the Burner app. With the Burner app you pick a phone number to call people anonymously and change it to a different number every week or so. What I have been doing lately is just simply blocking the robo numbers. Pretty soon I'll have more blocked numbers than saved numbers!

I just pulled this off the net. It may help a little.
The Do Not Call Registry accepts registrations from both cell phones and land lines. To register by telephone, call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236). You must call from the phone number that you want to register. To register online (donotcall.gov), you will have to respond to a confirmation email.

I have been using WhosCall for the past few years. It's only as good as those using it and if someone has tagged a number it shows up.
I will check out all those you listed and see if there is a better one. This stuff is getting crazy!

I almost forgot the one I got today. I actually played along like he was actually helping me and I was glad to pay any amount of money for home to fix my website and my Google listing. I kept him going for at least 30 mins.. I was enjoying wasting his time. When I finally told him I had a media Company and didn't need him .. wow he got pissed then I said please remove me from your call list . He called me and A$$hwkl and said because I wasted his time he would not remove my name from the list

LOL. I've played along with telemarketers a couple of times. I would put them on speaker phone while I'm busy doing something else. What I hate is when I ask them to remove me from their list and I just hear a "click".

Keep an eye on your Google and Yelp reviews. I pissed off one once and he left me a bad review. I clicked on his name, a Google user and found two others he hit. I made sexual remarks about his daughter. The guy in TN phone number was answered at a porn shop and I forgot the one in OR. We all called Google and they were removed. Yelp will do nothing because they say they are better than Google!
