Just as there are seasons of the year and chapters in a book, so it goes with life. After six years of operating Advantage Roof Cleaning Co., it's time for a new season and end this chapter. How is that for being poetic?...LOL. Back in 2011 I noticed an unmet need in my neighborhood, namely dirty roofs. On top of everything else I was doing, and still do, I took on the additional challenge of forming a new business. Over the years I grew the business and made some money. However I now find myself working all the time and living an unbalanced life. I could scale back the amount of work we do but that introduces different challenges such as maintaining numerous part-time employees versus consistent full-time employees. I'm 53 next month and have no desire to hop on roofs as I did starting out. I've already sold the equipment and I'm about done closing things out. I will take a sabbatical but then look for the next venture. Maybe something scaled down that leaves me with some free time to relax. It has been a real pleasure networking with you all. This is a great group of entrepreneurs willing and eager to assist each other. God bless and I wish you all the very best!

Didn't you just buy a new pressure washer?
This business can take it's toll. I am fortunate not to be the one climbing ladders and pulling hose any more. I started the business when I was about your age and did it all for about four years as the lead (everything). I wish you luck with your next venture and will be looking for my sabbatical come December.

Fortunately I was able to stop delivery of the PW. I was really looking forward to playing with it though! Thanks again Brett for all your words of wisdom and advice. You have been great.

Dave good luck in your next venture. Life is short and finding balance is key. Some people get it and some don't until it's too late. I'm sure you'll do well in whatever you decide is next.

Did you think about selling the business as a whole?
