This always pops up. I don't know why these guys like this battle. In the RCIA FB group there has been a bit of fun with a KoolAid drinker who thinks we will buy into his extreme amount of knowledge and BS.
First, he is one of the special people in the world who can call Proctor & Gamble and talk to six people, to include a chemist about using Gain dish soap. Well... I can't tell you how long ago dish soap stopped being used. He has started a bit of a battle about our lack of professionalism because we don't use industry soap! I remember a guy from Louisiana who started that battle on many groups about four years ago and got knocked down big time. BTW... Arm & Hammer has been working well with an additive at $14.00 for 2 gals. No shipping and stepped on many times for profit!
I called P&G a while back. I talked to at least 6 people there including their “chemist”who told me absolutely NOT to use their original Gain dish soap or any of their dish soaps with any percentage of sodium hypochlorite. They said there are ingredients not listed on SDS that aren’t compatible. I’m thinking maybe alcohol based because the chemist mentioned chloroform.
Call them yourself and report back. Maybe you’ll get more reason and facts out of them than I did.
But seeing as they said no, I damn sure wouldn’t use their product on my customers house to save a couple dollars on a roof wash. That’s pathetic lol
Kelly Nielsen using soaps we can pick up locally that work, doesn't have one thing to do with "professional application".
My customers could care less what soap I use. They are just happy we were able to clean their roof as well and many other things, some of which require professionally trained employees using the products that work!
Kelly Nielsen that's fine but don't tell people who have been doing roof cleaning and exterior cleaning for well over 12 years they are not doing a professional application because they don't buy into industry soaps! Roof cleaning started well before industry soaps were made. Some of us know how to think out of the box!
Well before industry soaps, professionals used LO without a scent. Not unstable products from the Dollar General.
But what do I know…
Do you thing guys. Don’t buy into being professional! That’s over rated. Screw what P&G chemists say. Keep adding your wife’s dish soap to your batched up roof mix
Art Oliveri I'm sure you remember all the times the "experts" who have less experience, tell us all about professional soaps! One "expert" tried to tell everyone in many different groups and got shot down fast. This has been going on for years! Then... there is the Guru!

Yea,..I remember those type of arguments on these boards over the years. This guy sounds like a reincarnation from those days. He sounds like he's way off on the times anyhow,...according to his last post in the thread,..He states this: "Keep adding your wife’s dish soap to your BATCHED up roof mix"
I suppose there are still plenty of people batch mixing,.but I thought most everyone serious about this was moving on to proportioner systems.
Even with batch mixing,.there are still plenty of soaps that will mix with SH and be stable,..and like Brett states,..can be bought locally.
I used to enjoy clobbering those type of guys on these boards,..now I don't really care to engage with his type. Reminds me of that Doug guy from a few years ago.
People,.including myself was guilty of over thinking the exterior cleaning business. Once you figure out how uncomplicated it actually is,..life in this industry goes much better,..and cheaper.
People can say what they want about Chris Tucker,..but he is one of the first people of influence that made using locally bought items a "thing". I remember he once had a post on the old RCIA forum titled,.."Lets Go Shopping at Lowes"

Thanks, that was entertaining. Better to listen more than to speak. Some are just so full of themselves they just can't help it.

I agree! We've been down this road so many times over the years! The last one was we would get sued if we didn't use industry soaps!
