I still clean out gutters. That used to be all we did. now I still like doing them because if you only have 6 or 7 hours of work, for that day a gutter cleaning, extra 100 120 or so bucks is kinda nice!

We clean them out by hand then flush. This is part of our roof cleaning service.

Gutter whitening on the exterior face is done with Gutter Grenade and soft bristle brush. This is sold as a premium service for us which most times gets us an extra $300+ per job.

We only clean interior gutters as an add-on. We used to advertise a lot for this but many times people have said we're crazy at $149. Its hard to make money on gutters.

Gutter cleaning sucks around here. I tell the Home Owner $100 bucks and they hang up. I like the line my husband did the lower gutter, but we need the high gutters done. That will be a 100 bucks lady. She says what are you nut! I'm not paying That!. We the contractor should risk our life for 50 bucks, Don't think so.

Gutter Cleaning is Good Money, you just have to explain to the Customer the point of difference between your company and the $50 guy. LOL! 50 bucks LOOOOL! What I explain is that $50 guy won't unblock the downpipes, $50 guy will make a huge mess, $50 guy is 100% uninsured, $50 guy injures himself during the job (becomes $120 000 guy), $50 guy knows nothing about roofing and won't give you a roof report whilst he's up there. I clean out the inside of gutters only if the HO asks as an added service. I do charge enough to make it worth my time. I scoop out the debris into a bucket and dispose of it. I find most HOs appreciate that versus scattering it on the ground. I cleaned only one gutter exterior on a two story. It turned out great but I thought it was too much work and wasn't worth my time.

We do on average 12 gutter clean outs a week, our minimum is 150.00 and goes much higher depending on the house and how bad the gutters are. I have many gutter installers in my area that refer their customers to me for this service.

We usually spend less than an hour at each house, and they are always done when we are in the area doing a roof or house wash so that we are not just making a trip for gutters only. Love the ones that the homeowners are complaining about the water running over the gutters and when we get there to clean them out the only thing in the gutter is a tennis ball or something else blocking the downspout. Still have to charge the homeowner due to the fact we had to drive out, set up ladders and remove blockage.

Im with Dan on this one. If I can swoop in and pick up some extra cash when Im in the area and still have the daylight, it's game on. That $$$ just covered lunch fuel and chems for a couple of days.

Hi am getting a Skyvac soon,
There is a guy a few miles away from me he has 15mtr about 45ft hoover with camera. I have offered him the job a have lined up for a rate , with a little for me sub contract. His company is called high maintenance its on my facebook page Softwash scotland. They do work on large growths of grass in gutter, sucks it up then turn hoover round, shake it, the grass drops to ground then hoover smaller bits up.

Gutter cleaning is important or the water starts to find its way into the walls or render coatings causing cracking and dampness in the walls causing expensive repairs and all kinds of health issues. With HO health asthma sufferers and other breathing issues like
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a big illness here lots off smokers they suffer badly from dampness can make them need hospital treatments ,

Thats why a softwash roof clean can stop your gutters from failing caused by over grown moss blocking them and sending that water into your building right down to its foundations.

We have a gutter vac system in the van, we don't use it that often because in a lot of cases the tiles or slate are too close to the edge of the gutter. They are very handy for some of the bigger jobs. We use it with carbon fibre modular poles and a camera that I got on ebay.

That's awesome Art. Assuming it's a gutter clean out, they can be great fillers between jobs if it is in close proximity to the next appointment.

Sticking with the thread topic, 85% of the time my choice of equipment for gutter cleaning is pictured below and the other 15% is the old trusty Werner ladder and a 5 gallon bucket. The price triples if the roof is not walkable!

I'm with you Ray....we blow out most of ours. I've tried gutter ball, u-bends, angled poles, etc, But nothing seems to work as good as a gas blower. Since out gutters tends to be so 'juicy" here, won't clean out unless it involves a house wash, because it's going to need one by the time we're done!

We use a blower as well, also if you we are doing a roof or house wash, often times we will use an open valve
with a little pressure. But only if they are really packed and or wet inside. We only do them if they are part of one of those services.
