Pump Up Sprayers for F-9

Are there any specific pump up sprayers that should be used with F-9? I have plenty of the home depot(viton) sprayers but was not sure if they would hold up to F-9. In the spring I'll be ordering some F-9.

Hey Hank,..there are pump sprayers made for acids,...I know Dultmeier sells them. Kind of expensive though. The wand is the weak spot when it comes to acid. A typical poly pump sprayer will be fine if you change the wand.

When I buy a pump sprayer I modify it considerably.

(1) I remove the hose and buy a 3' whip hose used for air. I cut the one threaded end off and use an epoxy and clamp to attach this hose to the pump sprayer outlet.

(2) I buy a wand from Dultmeier not sure the model number, I know it when I see it,Ha,Ha,.. I adapt a 1/4" male pressure washer type end to the wand,...and to the hose on the pump sprayer I attach a female quick coupler. This is what saves the wand,..being able to remove it after each use and run water through it to rinse.

(3) I put a tire valve in the pump sprayer for easy re-airing with the use of an air chuck that has the gauge built in. You also have to
"Plastic Weld" the pump part of the sprayer to keep the chemicals from coming up through the center. I also melt the handle in the down position so it isn't always moving.

Sprayers modified this way will last several years if cleaned properly.

*We run an air pump for roof cleaning so having air on board isn't a burden.

Jeff

I went out to check my Sprayer yesterday. I can change the tip real easy with a 1/2" brass reducer to a 1/4", for a coupler. Thanks for the tip Jeff

Hey Art, yes,..the main modification that that should be used is the ability to remove the wand and run water through the trigger valve. Otherwise the only other way to do it is empty the sprayer everyday and run water through the whole thing. Which in theory is better,..but in reality the jug and hose will handle not being rinsed,..the wand is the weak point. Emptying the jug everytime gets redundant.

*Also, the quick coupler acts as a swivel and allows for less stress on the hose and more comfortable for the user.

I had a misting nozzle once a long time ago,..I like the idea,..but for reasons that escape me at the moment it didn't work for what I wanted it for. BUT,..I've had a lot of strange ideas over the years,..so might be worth looking at again maybe. I think it has it's place for a niche use.
