G'Day all.

Thought I'd say Hi and give you an insight to where I am coming from in the hope to establish some genuine allies in common.

I am new to the industry and have spent several years in metal recycling and waste management industries and  found myself in a situation where I wanted to try something new and a bit more active and here I am. I have build a wash system with a 4000PSI 7GPM pressure wash, RO/DI Pure water system and recently added a simple 12V soft wash system.

This is all trailer mounted and very compact. We seem to have the pressure and pure washing going really well with great results and plenty of feedback and would love to hear any tips, hints, suggestions about the softwash process.

I have plowed through thousands of video on youtube (great resource)  and researched many sites and ready a million blogs but still always happy to here a good idea.

I am considering travelling to the States to do a conference at some stage to get a feel for whats new and to listen to the industry spokespersons so if any would like to recommend the one they think would be best to attend i would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Nick,
Any event put on by Ron Musgraves with UAMCC is worth its weight in gold.
Here's a link to upcoming event for 2014:

Hi Nick, Ray is right about the UMACC. I attended their event in Houston this year and it was well worth the trip. I traveled over from Ireland. Your rig looks great.

Thanks for the positives on the set up. I'll post a couple of pics with a bit more detail when I get a chance.

I see Ron's UAMCC stuff on FB and a bit of other info from AC etc . Really looking for that one big all round show that covers Pressure, Pure and Soft washing and also gives me a chance to listen to such things as techniques, safety, developments etc.

Its looking like being a busy year so I may need to take a few days off mid year . Your summer sounds better than your winter so I think something around July, August

Cheers

Nick

Andy.

The wash set up was build by a local guy who supplied the honda, pump and tank (Blue) 200ltr buffer tank for the pressure side of things. You can only just see it but there is an RO.DI system mounted on the back side of the aluminium cabinet. Produces about 6LPM (1.5G) of 0TDS water which I can use for WFP or even charge the buffer tank and spray 0TDS at 4000PSI.

The unit on the front is a spot spray unit supplied by a Rapid tanks here. I've pimped the pump up to a Fat Boy . It also hold 200 Ltrs which I understand is small compared to what a lot of guys in the US run but I am keen to keep it nimble and portable. I can lift the softwash off (empty) and take it anywhere I like. I can run it off a portable power pack long enough to get a thorough spray. Two guys can carry it easy. Even into a lift or EWP etc for height work.

The limiting factor is the head these units produce. The simple way to overcome that is to sit the pump up higher. This allows me to do it.

I'd be interested in any feedback should you guys want to chime in. I am new to this and happy to learn from those more experienced.

Cheers

Nick

Art, he's talking abjure "purr water", TDS is total disolved solids. Using pure water in your mix actually makes it a hotter mix and work more effectively with less chemical.

Art

I run a combination of Pressure, IONIC (Pure) and Softwash. The thing about pure water is that if you can produce it on site then you can make your product mix cleaner and hotter as Ray suggests. The other aspect is the ability to up sell windows, solar panels, signage and any gloss surfaces that require a spot free finish.

I suppose I'm not so much as a "Softwash" guy as an "Exterior Cleaner Guy"

I'm sure your familiar with Water Fed Poles (WFP) and I see many blokes using telescopics for applying SH at height on vids off YouTube. You can use the WFP to do 5 6 even 8 storey glass with the right set up.

Do any of you blokes do a combination of work our is Soft Washing the only service?
