Just wondering about Cherry Bomb. How many guys are using it and what is the verdict. I want to order some but would like some feedback before I do.

I have been using it but like the Lemon Aid scent better for masking the SH smell on certain jobs.

Don't have the masking issue that much but when I need to mask I have used both the lemon and cherry. For me, overall, I like the Cherry better.

I don't care for it. The few times I used it the smell after application was pretty bad. It took on a weird rancid bubble gum smell for some reason. I love Lemon Aid though. Best thing ever.

I tryed the cherry bomb and didn't like it. Green apple is by far the best so far but cost way to much to use.

Michael,

We used both Green Apple and Cherry Bomb to tone down the scent of the SH. We work a lot of weekends and 95% of the time the homeowner is present while we are Soft Washing their roof and house exterior. I just prefer to tone the SH scent down a bit with a few ounces of a concentrated masking agent if they are there during the cleaning. Even if they are not there, they come home to a hint of cherry or sweet apple not SH.

Like Pat said, Green Apple works best but costs more where as the Cherry Bomb is priced right and does well toning it down the smell of the Soft Wash mix quite a bit. Personally, all year I have been ordering Cherry Bomb if that means anything but if I could get the supplier of Green Apple to come down on their price I would switch. But they said they won't.

Here are a few links for anyone else interested in trying either one of the products:

Southside Equipment  (CHERRY BOMB)   http://shop.pressurewasherky.us/Cherry-Bomb-Gallon-CHRBMB1.htm

X-terior (X-jet)           (GREEN APPLE)     http://www.xterior.com/page/page/5830386.htm

You have to call X-Terior to order the GREEN APPLE, for some reason they do not have it listed on their site.

Ray, what are you paying for the Green Apple through e-xterior?

AC's rain fresh cover scent works really well too.

But here's a FREE tip from your uncle ray. If you ever get into a pinch for a cover scent and don't have time to order, go to you local janitorial supply house and pick up a scent that used for deodorizing bathrooms, usually come in cherry, apple, and other flavors. Works great, 1 pint per 50 gallon, usually runs about 9bucks per quart.

If you're in a REAL pinch, you can use a spa/hot-tub scent, which is great for covering up SH, but will cost you lots more ( 20-30 buck per batch)

Last year, with shipping it was $91.75 per gal. and about 6 oz.'s does the trick for a 65 gallon tank.

I have been using fresh wash, I've played around with ratios and no matter what I do I always get comments about using Bleach! I actually get anxiety about a home owner having worries about it on their property so I will be trying some Cherry Bomb or Elemonator next. Cherry bomb looks like it's $299 for a 5 Gal over Elemonators $97. Is it actually a $200 difference? I will gladly pay more as long as I don't have home owners freaking out half way through a job. Plus nosey neighbors!

Britton, these products don't really knock the smell out 100% unless you double the recommended amount but they sure as heck tone the scent of SH down quite a bit.
