Eric,

Your keen senses have opened my flood gates and I thank you for being the professional you are.
I'm now looking at providing a service for playgrounds during the flu season. We can help cut down the spread of germs and viruses at daycare's, schools and church playgrounds to name a few.

Thanks for the inspiration.

That is an excellent point Eric and a great seller that I happen to agree with because of customer feedback. However, I just really hesitate when it comes to making health related claims. If you have any reputable articles (not SWS claims) that state these claims as facts I would love to see them. This way I could defend myself if it ever came up.

Thanks!

I hear what you're saying about claiming health benefits and having a reputable information,..But,...it is common knowledge that their are germs on things we touch and live around,..and cleaning with a bleach solution is usually an accepted way to kill germs.  Washing hands is touted all the time,..so the idea of cleaner is more germ free isn't that hard to verify.

I appreciate all the positive feedback on this blog post.  I wrote this post based on information that I have gathered from working in the field and also from being an allergy sufferer.  I know how I feel when I am around different allergens.  Perhaps, you have heard of the term "house sick?"  This sickness comes from mold....Just wanted to clarify this is not SWS claims but, my claims as an informed business owner and allergy sufferer.

We have a woman that wants us out twice a year whether there is dirt or not. She is an allergy sufferer and after she had hired us to clean her roof, she noticed how much relief she had. Now we treat everything there.

Hence why I the term, "cosmetic cleaners" makes my blood boil. The pressure washing industry is a health and safety business. Getting things clean is just the by-product of the process.

While I totally agree with the health related benefits of cleaning, you also have to be careful of such claims depending on what state in which you are located. in Florida , you get fined for being an " unregulated" mold mitigator or pest control applicator if you make such claims.

Thanks guys for all the great feedback.

I totally agree that it is a no brainer and common sense that we are creating both a better, safer environment and eliminating a huge amount of the potential for allergens and illness. I too have customers that are on a yearly schedule because of the health benefits we provide for them. I was just stating my opinion that it could be a slippery slope if you meet that a-hole that tries to sue you because you said it will help with his kids allergies. I simply state that due to the legality of making health claims I cannot tell you that it will help with your concerns, but I do have customers that claim to reap the health benefits of our services and have in fact schedule routine cleanings because of it.

Mr Wible, although I agree with you on your point, common knowledge does not in fact stand up in court. So I'm just trying to protect my company and my family.
