Horizontal or verticle hot box? Pros and cons???

Sorry, Also 12 volt versus 110 volt.

We currently have a horizontal hotbox on the trailer now. Not a skid, a hot box. It takes up alot of room and there is a 110 volt generator on the trailer, to power it. That takes up room too.

The coil is gone in the hotbox. Ball park to have it fixed $1000. Pay someone else.

I can get a verticle pressure pro for about 2k. Brand NEW! Footprint about half verticle, and I can take off the 110 volt generator. More room for other stuff.

What would you do?

Mike, is there a question there?

I mean I guess if the old hot box is only a year or two old and still has 3-4 years left in it then maybe fixing it is money better spent. I too will be adding a generator but more for when power goes out or for commercial jobs where we really need to bring our own power. With that being said it really doesn't mean much for me to look at the space avings from the generator....again, just my personal situation on the generator.

Eric the Largo hot boxes are supposed to be the best. They are only a couple hundred bucks more than the pressure pros.

Fix what I got. Less money. Why buy a burner rated at 6 gpm, When I might go 8gpm this year, and need another burner and trash this one.

I haven't seen your trailer in years Mike but I do remember you talking about redesigning it. Have you considered stacking what you can and using the tongue for a storage box or even the generator? A few frames made with angle iron would cost that much.

Eric I've noticed the pressure pros have a 115v burner and seem to be well built.

What problems have you heard about?

Which Hydro Tec do you use?

A buddy in Ohio said there is another thing to consider. Now it gets more complicated, lol! Choose a company that is near to you for parts. Ya know, for when chit breaks. This conversation was about buying a plow. This makes sense too with power washing.

I agree plus don't need to pay shipping.
There's a Hilti inc in long Island City that sells northern stuff, there's some near manassas not sure how far but I know some local mom and pops will get what I need we do a lot of business with them. Ask your favorite shop

Maverick would you say these are worth the money for someone that will will use it once or twice a week? I dont have any experience using hot water but there have been times I should have had it.

I never had time to add it as been so overwhelmed with backed up work for the last several years but thanks for bumping up the topic. I'd like others feedback too. Planning again for next year.

I work out of a box truck mainly so being more modular rather than fixed equipment is a big plus. And also leaving it on sites for a crew while go to other jobs.
