Removal of back seat for more storage area
Permalink

So with the last couple of nice days I decided to remove the back seat of my f250 and build a platform. This will allow me to carry more containers inside bins and I will be installing an eye wash station and first aid kit on the Passenger side. On the drivers side I will be installing a bin for paperwork and a rack for my window cleaning pole.

It frees up about a foot of flat storage space.

I've seen a couple of people do it and decided to go ahead and do it as well since the back seat almost never gets used. I still have two other bins and more stuff that will go back there and free up space in the bed to the skid.

My dad had a handyman business and pulled the back seat from his Dodge truck and installed a big steel underbody tool box back there sitting on it's back (door opening upward). He had expensive tools locked up in there and figured it someone broke into the truck, they'd have a hard time getting into the locked box. Definitely wasted space...too small for a grown man to sit back there anyway.

I just picked up this tool box at HD for $29. Its a strong box and it has a water tight seal. I plane on getting everything I need in it in case of a brake down. Tools, Supply's everything. I don't like down time!

Like the tool box Art.
We need one and always haved used conventional tool boxes without the surrounding seal.
Everything gets rusted and tools take a beating as well. Home Depot here
we come!

Thanks!

All season long we organize and re-organize!!!

I just found this welding cart at Harbor Freight. I'm going to take the wheels off and bolt it to the floor inside the truck. I can also strap my DI filter to it where the gas tank would go. It cost $179, but I get 20% off

Hello everyone. Been a member for a while. Just thought forums have died because of Facebook. Good to see it hasn't. Getting so tired of Facebook. Really tired of seeing pictures of what people are having for dinner...lol  Really who gives a shit but maybe their mother.

Great to see you here Pinky!

People who broadcast their fancy meals suffer from pure narcissism. Working in Manhattan my boss loved to go to great places to eat and it always drove both of us nuts watching everyone snapping away that it kinda ruined the meal.
