Jeff in that video we are running a 5.5gpm. I also have a 8gpm and we use the 4.5 nozzles and it tends to stay down, not to difficult to keep from floating away.

How much hose are you running? I run 200' 3/8" and it isn't feasible to use with 8 GPM and (2) 4.5 nozzles. I think mine are 25 degree,..wonder if the spread of the spray can effect the lift off? I want to get it figured out,..the added weight takes away from the appeal of the Whisper Wash's light weight. I know I checked the PSI with a gauge last year at the SC,..but don't remember what it was. Last year when I bought the WW,..I was in full swing and didn't want to keep messing with the nozzles,..but I want to get it right here before the season kicks up.

Just checked the Barens nozzle calculator,..at 8 GPM and 9 GPM nozzle,..I'd be at 3160. But,..a few factors,..like hose length play a role,..but I think I can go bigger nozzles and still have plenty of cleaning power,.I think 2000-2500 PSI is all that is recommended for residential concrete anyhow? I want it to be just right,..a little lift to "Walk on air" but not so much that it looks like a UFO.

And just wondering,..are you guys running your SC with a soap injector in place? Because that would make difference,..I run mine full flow. I don't know,.. There's something different obviously,..hose length, soap injector,..or something? Can't figure why with (2) 4.5 nozzles mine is taking flight while others aren't having this issue with the nozzles mentioned. I know other guys have had to add weight as well. Anyhow,..looking forward to playing with different nozzles and getting it figured out.

Chris,..not sure what you mean by adjusting the swivel?

On the base where where your swivel is attached their is an alankey losses that and raise your Noel bar up about a 1/4 in that will help keep your cleaner on the ground as well. Mike Kreisler has showed me that.

Well,..I will have to look on my scrubber and see what the heck you're talking about,.Ha,Ha,..Just never heard of anyone adjusting the height on the arm,...not saying it isn't done,..just never heard of it,..but,...hey,..I will look at it today. And thanks.

Some put a 90 at the swivel.

Yea Eric,..I did that in the beginning,..didn't even seem to make any difference. I think it has to be hose length or running with soap injector or something,..just odd,...and over on PWI when I was discussing last season,..there was varying responses from users,..ranging from ,..not having to add weight and some having to add around 5 lbs.

Guess what I will do is,..setup like normal,..without weight,... and adjust the PSI by engine RPM,...then when I find that sweet spot,..I will check the PSI,..and then go to the Barens calculator and figure which nozzles bring it to that PSI at normal operating RPM?

The only variable there will be the flow difference with lower RPM,..but at least it will give me a starting point on which nozzles I need. I hope!

I'm thinking PSI is what's lifting it more than flow,..but I realize the "power" that flow has,...we shall see.

Ok,..VERY strange twist to this story. So I went to (2) 6.5 nozzles for the WW,..so it would stay on the ground without weight,..but I was afraid the cleaning power wouldn't be there,..and I was right. So,..back to the SAME nozzles I took out (2) 4.5's (The actual ones I removed) ,..Decided to add the weight and go back to the way it was. At first use I could tell the lift wasn't there,...so incrementally I removed weight,...so now I'm down to about 3/4 pound on the back of the deck to keep it down,...where it was 5 LBS to keep the whole thing down . The PSI is the same as when the lifting was happening. And it cleans like it used to,..except without all that added weight to keep it from lifting off?

The only difference is removing the nozzles and then replacing them,..why would that change the way it works. I could only guess it's the orientation of the nozzles,..which is pretty straight forward,.."Line em" up with the bar" same as before.

Anyhow,.not gonna ever tough them again until needed,Ha,Ha,..,..not sure why it works now,..but it does,..and I like it much better without all that weight added.

I posted this update just to inform anyone else who may have the lift off issues to maybe minutely change nozzle position????
