Hey Guys

 

Got some really exciting news. Just landed the contract to clean The Cairns Domestic and International Airport and surrounding ancillary buildings.

This is a massive undertaking and pretty daunting task ahead. 

The challenge as you can imagine is Environmental. Cairns is the Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. The Reef is already effected by up to 30 % coral bleaching and a massive concern to us all here who love it. Our challenge is to use a fast and efficient solution the way SH works without the obvious alkaline and discharge that comes with using SH. 

We have engaged some manufacturers of natural soap products to provide some samples of EPA approved safe substitutes and was hoping for some recommendations from the Forum.

Obviously we can control our solution that lands on garden, grass, surfaces that will hold water and dry out but those surfaces such as the front entry etc that run straight to storm water represent real issues for us. The weather and growth on the building is good old green algae, mould. SH will do it in a jiff. The challenge is to find the ultimate replacement.

 

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

 

Cheers and wish me luck. Its a 20 Hr drive just to get to the job and I don't leave the state. Give you an idea of the size of this country.

Nick a reclaim unit should be used and factored in not only the price but selling points.

Congrats and for what that job must of cost the price of renting a reclaim would be pennies!

I know there are guys who messed with CH instead of SH. Not sure it is really very viable but maybe worth looking into. AC over at SoftWash Systems might be able to help you out?

G'Day again from Down Here.

 

Just thought I would take the opportunity to share some pics of the Cairn Airport clean completed. We initially thought it would take 5 to 6 weeks. We did the job in 20 days. A complete exterior wash to all vertical surfaces both international and domestic terminals. All ancillary buildings including the Dept of Agriculture and fisheries, admin, traffic control, security and some other amenities.

Client was super impressed with the speed, and general result. An interesting side note was that with a spray and rinse method of cleaning, the amount of water used did not have enough volume to push the run off to drain so all most all solution remained on site, on surface to dry, evaporate and dissipate.

We even got time to visit the Great barrier Reef on a down day. Got to swim with a Minky Whale, incredible.

I've attached some pics. They are self explanatory I think. A mix of before and afters.
