Cedar siding

I've read the board and nothing is real clear to me. I have a Cedar siding job to bid. Two storyhome. From what I gather, there are three steps. sh (10%). rinse well. neutralize. I'd like more information if any one would like to share. message or phone call if you'd prefer. I have a 12v Soft wash setup. With proportioner. so I can set my solution to 10% and apply. rinse with my booster pump and apply second treatment, rinse again. .. My question is on the neutralizer. Plant wash, bleach wash whatever it may be. How quickly does it need to apply. Can I wash and rinse entire house, then come back and neutralize? Does the siding need to still be wet? be dry? Best method of applying the neutralizer? I'm thinking one of those house end spray canisters... screw on the end ofmy booster pump hose. And lastly, leave that bleach wash on the home, or rinse that as well? ???

Raw cedar?...Instead of SH,..use Sodium Percarbonate mixed at 8 OZ. per gallon and neutralize with Oxalic at around 6 OZ. per gallon. Both mixed in hot water. Apply both with a typical softwash pump like a 12V or something. Rinse would preferably with a PW with a fan nozzle at around 600 PSI,..what a typical soap nozzle is approximately. You'll get varying opinions on rinse method,..but they are all fine I'm sure.

Do a section or a side to completion and then move on. That way you aren't back tracking.

What Jeff said will work great. I do this, but I rinse with my booster pump.

There are different methods, we go the route of softwashing with bleach. We are surrounded by cedar in every direction. If you go this route I would use no stronger than a 2 percent strength mix followed by a neutralizer.

thank you for input. I have a booster to rinse. I also own a pressure washer and Soap nozzles. which is most effective? seems the pw would put out a higher volume rinse. ... The neutralizer. shoot thorough a hose end spray canister?

Depends on the PW,...A booster pump puts out around 7 GPM I think,..(Which I'm sure they vary). So,.that's contractors choice. When rinsing just be thorough doesn't matter which pump you use. I would apply the neutralizer with the same pump as the detergent.
