Hey Chris,.I prefer to work in the rain,..not a deluge,..but some rain is preferable opposed to the Summer heat and Sun. I can clean anything in the rain,.faster and in more comfort in the rain,....except shingle roofs. That roof looks like a tile roof,..how was it done in the rain,....being tile it can be treated and power washed to some degree I'd guess? Or did you just treat it numerous times? I've been caught in the rain while cleaning shingle roofs,..and it slows the products ability to work and multiple coats and/or stronger concentration had to be used,..wasteful!

Only ever happened a few times over the years,.and actually just happened last weekend. I was almost done and it started sprinkling. My rule of thumb to start a roof is,..if it's glistening with wet,..it's too wet to spray efficiently.

I love the rain myself. Fortunately we did the roof with two light coats prior to the rain so it did have time to dwell, I just spent the rest of the time rinsing in the rain to knock off the big stuff. On that side of the island it rains everyday so we learn that sometimes we have to waste a bit more mix but we make it back in the cleaning cost.

After being caught in the rain a few times, my rule of thumb is that we will not go out if the chance of rain is 30% or greater. We do watch the weather though on an hourly basis to try and dodge the rain.

Wow I feel for you Dave. Around here, I would never be able to schedule on that percentage. We often work on days forecast as
50 %- 60% chance of rain.

The only concern I have is on roofs without gutters. Obviously, we will not spray if rain is imminent.

I have had days where we left the shop, setup to clean a roof, rain came and shut us down. We went back to the shop and then turned right back around to return to the job with beautiful sunny dry conditions the rest of the day.

Last week we drove for an hour toward Pittsburgh and up to 20 minutes before we arrived we were still running in heavy rain...

The radar showed a narrow band of rain and then nothing. We gambled. We won. Sunny and beautiful money making day.

We use Accuweather to stay out of trouble. It is very reliable for us down to the minute by minute updates.
