Trying a New Soap

 I've had it in mind for a while now,.I want to try the kind of soap car washes use for their bay washing.  I bought one called Summer Breeze from Kleen-Rite.  I will be using it today on a house wash,..I let some in a bucket with 12.5% overnight and it seems completely compatible by smell.    Was fairly cheap at : @5 gallons for $86.00 to the door.  It has a high PH and is a pre-soak,.so I think it may work?  We shall see.  Typically any general soap will work for basic house washing,.. comes down to things like rinsing ease, cost etc, etc,..

I know I dipped my finger in it yesterday and it stained instantly,.and is still there,..didn't just wash off.  The bleach knocks the color out though.  I never had a soap stain my skin before.

  Steve Ugly was re branding Cherry car wash soap a few years back. He was running it threw the hose without S/H and saying it didn't discolor. Typical scam from them guys

@Doug,..You're right,..SH and noses aren't compatible,..Ha, Ha,...

Hey Art,..I never liked those guys from the get go. I think there was Steve and Bob. Both were jackasses.

As for the soap,..has good visual appeal with nice sudsing and cling,...but,..it's like any other general soap,..But as far as commercial soaps go,..I think this is where I'm heading.

I also use it as my bucket soap for dipping brushes,..the smell is very noticeable,..very pleasant,..has a nice yet strong botanical scent. Actually works very well with SH,... The Dragon Grip I was using would lose it's suds in the bucket after while,..yesterday this new soap stayed very sudsy in the dip bucket during the whole house wash. And it is really blue,..like a Smurf,....but rinses very well from windows,..which I figured it would have good rinse properties,..being a car wash soap.

* I will know more after a few more uses.

Hey Jeff, this is the same soap from the same company. Here are some reviews....your thoughts?

I have the same problem with purple passion; the slime clogs up everything. It works ok for me during the winter but definitely a problem in warm weather. The presentation is good but not worth the hassle of cleaning out strainers, buckets, etc. I'm switching to a different brand.

We had same problem with Purple Passion gumming up the screens with "slime". We were told it was due to bacteria in the air and/or water. We have been adding BLEACH to the mix and once we got to the right amount of bleach it has solved the problem. It IS a very bad problem with this soap if you have the slime problem and don't know what to do. It is also not a real aggressive cleaner as a presoak.

Have used other Kleen-Rite soaps (winter foam brush and triple foam) and they were okay. This product caused a lot of problems. It worked okay cleaning cars, but no matter what I tried it gummed up in the barrel and in the mix tank. It also gummed up the screen and my solenoids. I was told that this would happen by another car wash owner, but I didn't listen. Not sure what the problem is/was, but I'm not inclined to try and figure it out.

Hey Patrick,..I didn't see those reviews,..the slime issue they seem to have doesn't effect my use,..must be something car washes deal with. As far as being a soap,..it is nothing more than a general soap,..seems to work about the same as any other for my uses. As I said,.it is an awesome bucket soap,..and smells nice.

Hey Patrick,..no,..doesn't cover the smell any better than any other detergent. When I speak of the smell,..I mean when I use it as my "Dip bucket" soap,..without any SH added. Then it's very strong smelling.
