Trailer Build

Still got a lot of work to do. I will be transferring, this build to my trailer come spring. My brother Greg Helms, drove up here to Maine, and together we built this 12v system rig. Between Brett Thompson and Greg Helms this all would not have come together. I would also like to mention Eric and  Lisa Seitz for there role in shipping me, all the supplies needed from PWS Central PA.  Hope to continue to learn and grow more with all the tips and advice given here from the NSWA. I will keep you posted in my progress, as spring nears 2018!

Thank You

Tayib Helms

Nice to see it all come together Tayib. It looks like more than 12V with a booster as well. Once the weather warms up I hope you'll post the completely installed trailer. Having your basement for a winter build made things easier. Now get the website going ASAP!

Looks good but complicated. If you had employees they would screw that thing up in about 5 minutes. You might want to think about going with at least a 100 gallon water tank.

I once drew on the shop board a stick figure diagram of the only THREE connections my LEAD tech needed to make after 9 months working with us and he still screwed ot up and somehow also blew up the bladder in the accumulator!

Tayib, looks awesome.
The trick is not to have employees!

At first glance, it looked "Rube Goldberg" ...esq.

But a closer look and it is actually a very effcient layout.

Well for some

Thanks for your comments guys, I don't take anyone's advice lightly. This is a build for 5x8 trailer, which I honestly prefer not to use. As soon as I'm able I want to upgrade to a dedicated work vehicle or box truck. This is a little complicated ,with everything marked but I'm sure I'll have my problems too. I think Greg did a helluva job with this lay out, things are easy to fix. I'm a one man show for now and I have the ability to spray chem with booster for normal operations or fatboy with chem. I have a dedicated water line and chem line too. I will have to see in the spring, about adding another tank 65gal to rig for additional water source. I,m little concerned about weight, will have to see once everything is assembled. Thanks Again

Tayib, I just saw this. Looks great! Looks like you need some engineering degree to run it, but impressive. Good job

That is a master build. As soon as the snow melts it will be time to make some of that investment back.

Nice looking command centre (or center as this is an online community in the US). A great use of space. So can pretty much all booster pumps be mounted vertically?

Also, I can't see a bypass or pressure switch. What prevents the booster pump from dead heading when you are off the trigger?

Yes, vertical or horizontal but the outlet can't be up, in the opposite direction. I wish I had the room (or maybe make the room) because that set up is much easier to completely drain the pump.

I just finished installing my new booster vertical in our new service box truck. It hangs in the back compartment very nicely.

We wired a switch right to the side of the compartment with a pigtail for the electric cord, and so far we are going to see if mounting the 3 way directly to the pump body will work for us. That way we can divert the house water supply from the Hudson valve on the truck to the pump with one turn.

We are going to try the check valve idea on the Hudson line to divert the water without another 3 way valve.

I know Tim Astelton has his truck line plumbed that way, so we shall see if it works for us.

I will post pictures later.

Nice job on your first build, I have never seen a bulk rinse pump mounted up and down. I think the best priming ones are below the tank like Tim's, mine are above and pull off the tank, once primed off the garden hose.

Thanks Guys
Like Brett mentioned the pumps can be mounted vertical to drain water or chem from pump. I live in Maine where the temps are not ideal for pumps in early spring late falls. Tim Astelton had a great class on the booster pumps in Central PA PWS. He showed a picture of what a freeze can do to the pump. The pro switch is awesome but expensive too. I need to put it on my wish list for a future purchase with a 1/4 mile receiving remote to pump. To keep it from dead heading I currently have a manual switch and shop remote. Which I don't get a great deal of distance for it to work. I will be running this season

It was a pleasure meeting you. You and Greg definitely tapped into the Brett mind. It will work great! You are light years ahead of what I started with. Do just what you said: Go make the money, then upgrade.
