South Ridge Solutions coming in hot!

Hello everyone, Tyler here with South Ridge Solutions. New to the industry and willing to listen to any pointers and tips you experienced softwashers have! We work in the Greater Atlanta area and plan on using the roof shampoo method. With that said, the reason I’m using their method is because I believe in it and like the fact that I don’t have to worry about any harm to vegetation and the green label it carries. I do know that roof cleaning is and can be done with SH with no harm shown to plants and the home. But myself personally, do not have the experience with SH to ensure no issues when using it. So before you go bashing us for using their method, please know that we understand that there is more than one way of doing everything and we ensure you’ll never see us putting the SH method down. Thank you, Tyler Ferrugia South Ridge Solutions

You will find there aren't any contractors here using roof ****poo method. Not much you find in common with us as far as roof cleaning goes. The method you mention is harder than the approved SH method. Yes, many jobs can be done in a different manner,..but,..the detergents and tools they use aren't anything you'll find here for roof cleaning. No surface cleaners on the roof,..and no Sodium Percarbonate based roof cleaners are discussed here. You may be able to get some insight on pumps and such. We don't need to bash you or the method you choose,..as you will figure it out on your own most likely.

If you read through the posts here you maybe will choose the BEST method for roof cleaning!

Jeff

Well good luck to you. That method requires power washing, plus moving a surface cleaner up and down the roof with a rope and not sure what chems they use but I dont see how there effective if you have to use a surface cleaner on the roof. What are your plans when it comes to cleaning a very steep roof? Are you going to rent a lift to do it? If so a soft washer is going to come in with a way better price than yours, but hey if you can sell it then more power to you.

If you took the time to learn how to use sh I would bet you would make out way better than with the roof shammapoopoo way.

As I said earlier good luck in your endeavor and I wish you success. Do to the method your using I cant help you out with any techniques or methods.

I can't add anything different than what Jeff & Mike said.

Unfortunately, there is little here to help with that method. If you turn off what they tell you and follow roof cleaning protocol, you will do a better job and no harm to plants.

Good luck!

Thank you for your replies. If we wanted to educate ourselves on the SH method where would you point us? I have one hell of a market to work with and I’d LOVE to be able to get out in the field and let these folks know that we can help them. (Preferably with the best bang for their buck!) With a hell of a sales team and the right education on the “know how and why” I believe we will be Atlanta’s best one stop shop for exterior cleansing.

Tyler your profile states that you have been at this for over a year. My suggestion is to use the search button on this forum. Maybe browse the net as well. There are many ways to successfully use sh.

No one here will soon feed anyone. Ask yourself this question. Why are there 100's of thousands of contractors using the sh soft wash method. There are companies that build equipment for sh soft washer, there are soaps and so much info out there. You just need to go out there and read and then practice what you have read.

By the way I thought you were sold on the roof shampoopoo method. What changed?

To add to what Mike said... we love helping people but only after they put in the research and time to help themselves.

I remember very well when I started. One of the people that helped me the most was Mike. I found some stuff on line that claimed to be the best and only product for roof cleaning. Mike told me to send it back and to spend time researching and reading. Wow! That was great advice.

Like you, I thought I was going to kill it because everyone was going to want their roof cleaned. Not at all true. We added services listening to others, watching videos that were posted by seasoned professionals. Now we clean anything that is outside, properly. Sales team or not, it will not happen over night. I have no clue what roof shampoo is telling you but I'm sure there is a pretty good investment with them. When you get on the peak of a roof and work that machine, I would assume it is not fun and would clearly be a day of hard work. Spraying from the gutter line, standing on a ladder, finishing and moving on the the next one before the roof shampoo guy finishes 1/4 of the same roof.

BTW: Has Roof Shampoo told you have many granules end up in the gutter after the roof is cleaned using their method? Look for some stuff on You Tube about that.

Ok... my two cents!

I have a roof shampoopoo guy in my area. I talked to him a couple of years ago about the granule loss that his equipment causes and his response was priceless.. His response was "Well hell. They put millions of granules up there whats loosing a couple 100,000...." I wish I had a tape recorder for that conversation but I didn't but I was S/Hed with his answer.

I have used almost every solution and method out there. The SH method is by far superior to all. I look at it from a business side to the amount of jobs we can complete in one day vs. the other methods is basically a 5-1 ratio sometimes 6-1 ratio. That's just running one crew.

At 500 average per roof that is 2500-3000 per truck. You may get 5-600 per roof your way and see the difference? Even if you get 2 houses in a day and adding ad ons you still wont make nearly as much as any other SH method member here.

Not picking on you just showing you some samples of what your missing out on. As always I suggest experimenting on your own property first to gain confidence and put together a structured plan to complete each task. IE house Wash, Roof Cleaning, you get the drift..
